6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
I don't know what you do for work or what your shop looks like, but the biggest thing with cheap headers isn't the thickness of the flange as much as much as is the flange flat. If you have a good straight edge....check. and machine them flat if need be...

That and shitty welds. My $80 headers on sancho haven’t fell off yet.

Yeah I was going to mention that and got distracted, the welds to the pipes sometimes aren't even, I had to have some machined down, on a $200 set of headmans.:angry1:
Should have sent them back but olds g-body headers don't have alot if market choices

Well know soon enough

When does the damper get here?
Damper got here today. I’m a little nervous because the zero mark appears to be pretty towards the top of the damper but I’m gonna try to dig into that this weekend after I go shooting.

I can accomplish that. Can’t machine it but I can definitly check for flat.

Sounds like the 70s damper where it's below the water pump.
Looks like you have plenty to do with the headers and that, I'll just watch

Headers aren’t going to happen until I get my heads.
They were just another thing checked off the list from my bonus.

The damper is the only thing happening now other than the fans. I want to get everything good n happy before I tear into it and start changing stuff

Where’s the best /cheapest place to get a damper puller and installer?
I know I can rent them for free but I’m always looking to expand tool collection. But it’s hard to pay $75-90 for something I’m not gonna use often that I can rent for free.

Depends how much you're gonna use it really. We had 4 racecars, I used it a lot

I bought a set from the auto store decades ago. Its been a great set. As a bonus I use it at work at times. Totally unsure of the brand, but you can tell by looking how well it's gonna hold up

Small update. I’ve been trying to sit on it but since they’re gonna be here Monday I’ll spill.

Order some speed parts recently.

Blueprint heads
Single plane intake
Comp X4262H cam

Cam won’t be here for a few more weeks.
Not sure when all this is gonna go in. I’d like to get the fans wired up and drive it some more before tearing it down but I might just do it all at once.

I know the engine combo/usage aren’t right for a single plane intake, but after seeing some threads about how these tbi efi’s can have dead spots in a dual plane I figured I’d try it out. Worst case I can always throw the Performer back on later.

You got motor trend on demand?
If not they have a free 5 or 7 day trial.
Tune in to engine Masters and find the episode that freiburger and dulcich test dual plane vs single plane.

Should be Happy with your choice after you watch that.

Any specs on the heads?

Cam looks like it lands nicely between an Edelbrock performer and their RPM cam. Should work pretty well
