1981 K20

6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
Got my windstar fans in. Just connecting to the battery man these things can suck a ton of air.

But I’m gonna have to do some trimming to get them to mount. Also need to figure out the wiring. I’m gonna have them controlled by the fitech. But mine didn’t come with my pigtails so I’m on the hunt for those also I want to find matching ones to maintain a water tight connection.

When you say Windstar, do you literally mean Ford windstar fans? Got a part number?

Yup. Ford windstar minivan fans. They cover the radiator almost perfection. Move I wanna say in the 3000s of cfm and have at least one two speed fan.
I don’t know that I’ll be able to use the two speed feature since I’m controlling with the fitech which switches grounds but I’ll be able to use the two fans on/off at two different temps at least.

I see, where can you get a pigtail? Junkyard obviously, but what about new?

If it was a pigtail off the fan motor I would just cut it and put my own connector on there, but as it is I want the right style. Don’t want to just use spade connectors.

I agree. I think I might go this route as it's a super popular mod. I always thought guys were buying an aftermarket fan that was styled off the Windstar fans and just using slang. But I would want it to look like factory ( even Ford factory) is I was going to do it.

I wanted the factory plug, not just some box store crimped spades

I will say it’s a pretty good snug fit. I’m gonna have to cut off the factory mounting spots and trim it to fit but it should be pretty good. Then just gotta wire it to relays that trigger off the efi

What year Windstar ? Maybe I can look on alldata or Ford's actual website and figure it out. The Ford oem schematics give good connector pics usually and part numbers I think.

This is off AllData for a 2000 Windstar with a 3.8L, there stuff is pretty generic. It shows both fans having 2 wires. I am working on getting the correct viewer installed on my work computer and then I'll get the Ford factory diagram.

Rock auto sells the pigtails and yes they're both two wire pigtails. There's a metric shit ton of those POS vans in the yard too.

Looks like they just run both on low through a relay and resistor or both on high through a different relay with no resistor. 10 ga wiring off the same 50 amp fuse. PCM controls the ground.
