Great project. I like it.

Thanks boss!

So today at work I did a little work on my Dana 60 parts for fun. Took the knuckles and brake mount.

After some chemical cleaning and grit blasting

Should look pretty good when I get it all finished and played.

Realize I never updated this with the finished results.

Should look good when the axle is all put together. And if it doesn't, meh I'm easily amused.
Also hooked up a set of back up lights that used to be a new set of fog lights

Looks good man. I love blasting old rusty parts, even if nobody sees them you know they look nice!:thumb:

Shouldn't you tuck those lights up in behind the bumper?

Martin
ah yes.
its hard to see in the picture, but the way the bumper is there is no way to get the lights in between the bumper and the rear crossmember...
i ended up bolting them to the bottom of that crossmember. actually i think they're in the holes that the gas tank straps go thru.
anyway i'd much rather have the lights higher/ more protected, but didnt see anyway to do it

so yesterday i spent a few hours digging out my AC unit, all the ventilation and hvac controls/wiring.

man its amazing how much cleaner the engine bay is without all that crap.
also my headers are off bcuz the exhaust leaks were so bad that i decided to pull them off and clean em up, new gaskets and new exhst.

since the headers are off and now the ac is gone, i'm using this time to clean up the engine bay and wiring. going to move the battery to the firewall, and just kinda tidy every thing up.

on the list of this to be bought for this thing in the next few weeks.

-a battery tray from ruffstuff.

-some new remflex gaskets for the headers (recommended by Scott)

-thinking bout getting an exhaust setup from summit for the time being- bout $120 anything has got to be better than whats on there.

last thing i'm working on right now, since my dash is torn apart, i'm working on putting my autometers into the rig. i got a nice dash bezel from Scott that is already setup to run them, but my guages are a little too small to fit so i'm going to try and find a different way to run them. we'll see how it plays out.

anyways i'll probably take some pictures tonight depending on how the progress goes,

This is the header after removing about 20 years worth of rust, baked on mud, and all the carbon that was cooked into the tubes.
hoping to plate them this week. will help with the heat retention as well as not looking like **** and leaking everywhere.

used a kickplate i got from my old job (sheet of stainless) to patch up the firewall after i got the AC/heater out of there. hoping to get the battery box orderd by next week. so i can get that installed, work on the wiring before putting the exhaust back together.

what fans did you use? I had windstars, but after making a engine cage I can't fit the big fan in there. Just looking for options.

i'm 85% sure these are the ones. if you want i can take some measurements when i get home. they're pretty tight to the radiator. and they'll cool the truck from about 210 down to 170 in about 30 seconds ( impressed me at least) sitting in the driveway. i think i only paid about $170 since i have a buddy that works there.

let me know if you need any dimensions.

Feels faster already.

Need to get the tranny temp gauge and get the switch panel mounted to the dash. But I'm digging it

So in the past few weeks. I've gotten

My headers plated an reinstalled.
A new dual exhaust kit from dynomax to help with the exhaust leaks and quiet it down
A rebuilt th400 with rebuilt 208. (going to run like that til I get the 241/205 setup done)
Battery box from ruff stuff. (also plated). Optima is up on the dash now.
Picked a heavy death winch bumper from craigslist.

I'll get pictures of all these goodies tomoro after the truck fest

My new to me TH400. Recently "rebuilt" with a rebuilt 208 to go along with it. Should work for now while I work on a 241/205 doubler.

Shiny nickel plated headers. Should help flow and heat similar to ceramic coating.

Battery to the firewall and cleaned up the wiring a bit.
