I stopped using nozzle dip... it has a tendency to contaminate the nozzle/tip imo when it loads up...
I just keep a small pen knife and a pair of small dykes on the welder... dykes for trimming the wire and just an occasional scrape with the knife tip keeps the tip clean...
one thing I'll suggest to you is to learn to use your other arm, knee, whatever as a steadying guide... and prerun "practice" the weld real quick before you start to make sure you have a good body/arm position to do the weld, AND YOU CAN KEEP IT STRAIGHT AND EVEN.....
