Was that fitting taking the brunt of the battery falling out of the holder.

Looks like the positive post on the side shorted out. Maybe the tranny side had a better ground,

That hose fitting isn't correct for the hose. The collar isn't touching the outer sleeve. Take both hoses back to wherever you got them and have them make new, or show them why you are going somewhere else. I would bet that you could pull the hose off of the fitting if you tried with just a little force.

I will have to give it a try tomorrow.

Looks like a screw in end. Not a crimp end.
So I thought you were being funny... I started researching ptfe today because I hear race cars use it and it turns out this is a ptfe line and indeed a threaded in that screws together.

Going to order up some stuff here shortly.

Ok I thought it looked familiar. Those are kinda like the hoses we used to make for replacing the copper bugle line on semis. It's the air line that comes off the air compressor. They have to withstand high temps. Factory uses copper with compression fittings. Replacement was a Teflon lined braided stainless. They had funky ends you assembled yourself.

I guess j should have assumed that someone would think I did not have hard lines anywhere. So.....

All of my flex lines are done with that system.
