I figure these frames need all the help they can get, it's overbuilt cause I don't need half the stuff going on this truck.

How big of a hole should I drill for the 1.75 "frame spuds" Would 2 inch be enough or 2 1/4?

I talked about this with our welder today and he said the same thing Wade did. Skip weld then fill it in. He mentioned skipping back and forth as far as possible so that each area may cool between welds.
Time for another silly question.... The hoops are 1.75 diameter, I get a hole saw for 1.75 to notch the tube correct?
After staring at the piece flush against the frame I realize it's going to be a nightmare, I'm going to have to bend the piece some how and form it to the frame. Even then in a few spots it dips down and isn't flat.
Maybe I should just cut it up and make some plates like this.

I've seen 3 K5 frames that have cracked at the end of the stitch welds. I usually let mine cool over night. Then over lap the first welds just a little bit. Never had an issue with it.

Nothing of any detail. And it is covered in snowy slushy mud right now.

seems to me I think the shock hoops will work... I'll let you guys be the judge..
The hoops will have to be vertical and laid right up against the frame. Will that be a issue? It's also just a smudge off the gear box, and will require a fancy frame spud. Only real problem I see is if the frame twists it could come in contact.

You need the engine and manifolds on before you stand those up like that. Clearance might be an issue.

Judging from my pictures and all the other pictures, everything will clear the engine and leave room, it all lays inside the frame.

Take me more pics of that hoop mocked up straight in line with the axle (im mounting my shocks right on top) with the bracket straight out. And take a pic from the front, I wanna see how close you are to the steering shaft. My shocks are way bigger
Im still gonna run crossover for reasons wade and brian posted in my thread... But I may get those brackets if they will work with my shocks. They look pretty cool.
