FIFYTrans is bolted to the block, leaving here in a bit to watch a baseball game and fireworks and drink Bud Weiser cause it's independence day and nothing screams America like a square body Chevrolet, baseball, fire works and beer.
Not yet, want to here people's opinions on it and I'm waiting until tomorrow to do it.

I ordered the 15900, it's also a -8an plate style but a little bigger and includes the fan switch. I haven't used it yet however I read several positive reviews so I went with it.

Man up, move your oil cooler and put a properly sized Trans cooler to help your free bad ass Trans live a long life.. I have directly applicable data to support my claims.. I live in the same climate, have a similar sized truck with less power so less stress, and the Trans is essentially the same.. Soo if you wanna gamble.. It yo money's man!
I think the fan will help the size, it's got a 180 thermostat.

Mine also has a 180 thermostat, and a clutch fan behind it.. Arguably more airflow. Trust me, once it's hot it stays hot. Just keepin that threshold below 230 is the key..
I've already toasted a converter on mine because of this, now that it's got the properly sized cooler it doesn't pass 210 in the summer pulling weight.
A little clearity on the AN vs JIC debate. AN and all JIC fittings are 37°. SAE fittings are the only ones that are 45°. That said, I work with hydraulic systems daily with JIC fittings with working pressures of 3000-5000 psi. I think they would be plenty fine for a transmission cooler.
I believe it, I just think it's weird.
It's pretty much standard practice for a lot of rebuilders. Auto or manual. The bright color allows leaks to be found and pinpointed quickly
