I swear on my '79 that I used to have that it had welded nuts and those pointed flange head bolts on the frame brackets. Isn't that how they are supposed to be factory. I don't remember having to use a wrench on any nuts for fuel tank to frame brackets.
Part of the reason I used the v-band exhaust flanges was to make it possible to get the exhaust out of the way on the driverside. The passenger side is a fight with the tank selector valve for 1 or 2 bolts.
