1990 5.3 Jimmy

just read most of your build only couple pages left, this thing is sweet build. i like how you just chopped top for the full vert soft top.

Do your rear adjustable bump stops you made slip up at all or seem to clamp enough? You worried about them hitting bed floor?

Thanks! The bumps are actually in the front, they clamp hard and don't move at crazy flex.

Some little upgrades to note here
First, mounted the zeon 12k winch. Needed to cut some pieces out of the A bomb to accommodate the size and make brackets for mounting the control unit but I think it came out alright:

My power steering setup previously had dual psc heat sink coolers mounted next to the radiator under the hood, they came loose in moab and fell into the battery and they never really cooled to my liking plus I had a hydraulic line weeping ever so slowly so I took the opportunity to redo the whole power steering cooling setup, I ran the same derale cooler I use for my transmission and upgraded the lines to AN8 to try to future proof it for going full hydro some day. I've got both tranny and power steering fans wired to the same switch since I'll just run them both whenever I'm on the trail anyway. Forgot to take pics before installing the grill.

Got the axles re geared and ARBs installed, which I would have never managed without @Tnsejed you're the best! - while I had them apart I replaced everything in the axles, kingpins and all. Took the chance to make an upgrade and add some orange also

Just wrapped up running air lines, so many lines in the front.
Also, ARB switches show pictures of jeeps 20220226_145134.jpg
I wasn't a fan so I needed to get new covers, much better

As a bonus, SOMEONE went ahead and laid down some flames during the gear and locker install when I wasn't looking so I put some clear over them to preserve my +10 horsepower

All that's left to do is break in the gears... For now

Hells nice upgrades! Your gonna love the selectable lockers.

So as soon as I got the air lines all hooked up I've known I had an air leak in the rear axle because of course I did. I wasn't gonna pull the cover and see where until the gears were broke in and I had to change the oil anyways so I finally popped the cover and it was clear the leak was coming from the seal housing where the copper line attached. Huge pain in the ass but to ARBs credit I submitted a warranty claim and I had a replacement part Wednesday. Pulled the rear carrier today wonder where the leak is...

Getting the bearing and seal housing off was an enormous pain in the ass and I fought with it for hours, but finally managed with some fancy engineering

Hopefully itll all be back together and leak free by this weekend.
