1990 K5 Build ( Ol' Blue ) : Rocker rust...

Also, do you remember what truck this came out of ? In regards to getting brake parts from the tards at part source...

mid 90's Z71 4x4 if I recall right. Deaner would know for sure...

TP works if it's that bad! :haha:

hahahah! yea never thought of that. it wasn't bad until i stopped. I think its mainly from the doors being closed and having it echo. Neighbours have already asked me what I'm grinding all the time.. and that was before this 3 day stint of 10 hour days messing around in the garage :haha:

Tell em you're building a meth lab...oil is in the shitter, gotta do something right?

Hahah thats what i should be sinking my money into. Its not quite blue yet...:haha:

yup!
I can take a pic of the SN if you like.... still here on death row! Lol!

Sure ! any info that would give me the year.. I can always measure the drums , and stuff to make sure they give me the right parts before i leave the store, and just ballpark a year.

How o you like the BDS springs?

I really like them. Note that before i had home made add-a-leafs from the PO:screwy: so it rode like a dump truck. I was a bit curious as to how they would be, since a lot of negative comments were found online about how they ride, along with good comments too. But id recomend them, ive never ran the ez rides from other companies but i really like how these were made and properly shimmed. Being made in canada and not china was a big plus for me aswell. I would totally recomend them from my experience with them. They havent settled any lower than the first time i rode with them, so thats good too. I did notice the rear is about 1/2 inch lower than the rest ( no blocks ). Zero rates may be a good idea... Im hoping with the new perches and the 9.5 14 going in that i may gain that half inch back:rolleyes:

Trustyk5 took a ride with me in it, and has also driven it, he would have more insight on how they compare to other springs possibly.

And if youd want to keep the sway bar, the kit that comes with it to do so , was well thought out ,And better than tbe others i have seen.

I found they rode quite good when I drove it...much better than my Superlifts or the old Rancho's I've had in the past.

Ok great! Good to know. I will just be buying2.5" BDS or 3" Tuff Country front springs and going with a block in the rear. This rig will be a DD with very minor off road use and the oem rear springs seem to be in good shape.

I also think i found an Xj shaft today on craigslist!:thumb: Been kinda tough since the yards are usually sparse on heeps, around here.

So i went and checked out the guys add.. Man his garage was like a jeepers paradise.. Not to mention all the tools i could have used out of there too...:haha: But i got the shaft for 20 bucks and i removed my old one.. Without damaging it juuust to be safe.. And the new shaft fits on the bottom splined gear box, and needs a little grinding on the top end, near the firewall.. Its dark out and i have shit for light in my garage. But i can rest knowing i got the right one today. Parts from ORD wont be here until monday the 22nd. Atleast i will have some things to do this weekend to the blazer. I am planning on possibly buying new drums and brake cylinders. and maybe trying to see how the old SS from the 10 bolt may work out, if i can tweak their shape a bit.

Looks like you've been fairly busy.

I'm diggin it!

Thanks ! i have been quite busy doing this all. Especially since it is the first time doing anything like this.. but i am in absolute love with my blazer more and more as the sickness has returned.. I am so thankful i didn't sell it when a guy showed up with 8-9 grand..
