I hate how expensive everything here is.. Really makes you want to give up quite often..

Seen guys get CV shafts made for like 250-300 :angry1: Haha

If you hate how expensive it is here, you're in for an ugly surprise when you move to BC. Speaking of that, I don't think you can ignore that rear shaft when this is going to be your primary vehicle.

Mechanical stuff costs even more there??...Jesus lol.

Yea eh, i will just have to get it done then.

image.jpeg LMC order came today. They did forget one of the tailgate support straps though...:deal:
The fuel cover, and gasket seem pretty well made, and thick enough steel. Aso ordered the hardware for the tailgate, and for the spare tire carrier i have located off a member, just waiting for the shipping quote and i can get that mounted as well.

Oh you mean tax wise... I just remember the cost of things being cheaper in ottawa, even though the 15% hst, because people dont have money to blow like they do here..

So just retube what he has. Should be under a $100.

Martin

:haha: :haha: :haha:

Nothing is under $100 in Alberta... every shop that does drive shaft work has labor rates north of $100/hr. Four feet of the correct DOM tube, is already $50 ish plus their mark up. My "re-tube" was $500. This is what Nick was complaining about regarding how expensive stuff is here. Now with our dollar low, even US parts are spendy. Retailers here are brutal.

Like it was said, shit here is expensive. Retailers are brutal, and we are in oil country. They know people have money to blow, especially when it comes to trucks.. So i figured if im going to spend money, i may aswell get a heavier walled tube aswell.

Nothing too exciting, but i love getting any sort of parts!

This weekend i have quite a big list of things to do... But one thing i am stumped on is i have no reverse lights.. I have checked the bulbs and they are good. I am terrible with electrical problems... Has anyone had this happen before or know where i should start?

Start with the multi wire switch on top of the steering column?
I guess you need to find out what wire powers the backup lights first so a wiring diagram would be a great first start
What year again?

The reverse switch isn't in the column, it's on the upper driver side of the transmission. Unplug it and see if you have power there with the key on. If you do, jumper the connector and if the lights come on then its the switch, if not then it's in the harness leading to the taillights or most likely just a ground problem.

Would it be in the same spot with an sm465?

Some more parts showed up today, its been like xmas this week. Ubolts from skyjacker, and shock mount tabs from synergy. The corners are cut rough but they are nice looking otherwise

I was happy to see the ubolts are coated. I hate painting anything with thread. They did come with no washers, and just nylocks. Should i use the ones from ORD with the washer?

I would use the washers.

Nylocks, and washers? I kinda like the taller nuts that came with the ORD stuff. Would nylocks help. Do they ever come loose?? They get torqued tight..
