1990 K5 Build ( Ol' Blue ) : Rocker rust...

Inbetween sling tension formulas and drawing out critical lift plans.. I had to clear my head of all the pythagorean theory, inverse factors, wire rope calculations ,and algebra.. So i went out to garage to get some shit done... I messed with the door a little but its still pissing me off.. Then i realized i had to get the power mirror wiring out... So i started unravelling all the tape and fishing the first section out of the door harness... Its a real pain the ass! When the door is on and the harness is fed through already.... So i got to digging. I got as far as the main harness for the truck where it dissapeared... So i started digging further.. It turns out my whole truck has been jimmy rigged with electrica tape and connections.. The main wires split off from the main harness into 2 different ways so i couldnt risk cutting any further.. As i have NO clue whats been done in there and have no time to figure it out. So i hope what i got out is enough for @blazinzuk to use. I am assuming the harness are all the same and if the truck got the option of the mirrors it was added at the main harness and then clipped in and routed under the dash to the door and so on..

After i got the mirrors out, i decided to try the window switches on the new drivers door. The passenger window works but i think theres an issue with the window motor in the drivers door, it wont budge. Its drawing power, because my voltmeter is going down when the switch is pressed. I might luck out as the window motor in my previous drivers door wasnt too bad. Is it hard to swap them??
Any advice on swapping the motors would be great as time is of the essence..

Just messin with ya. Lol I'm jealous because you get more done than I do on most days.

maybe having bad anxiety is good for something...? lol

Dude I would have been happy with wires snipped long enough to solder em lol.

Thanks for the effort.

If you want I have a complete ( interior) harness unmolested in my 89 parts rig.

Nothing in the engine bay. It was a non power window but it had AC

No worries man, i wanted it to be as easy as possible for ya. Ill get these shipped out in the next week or so. I may take you up on that harness. Then i can get an engine one and redo it all. Because this wiring disaster is a mess!!!

Have band aids if you don't want to bleed on everything.

By that statement im assuming its a "reach down, and cut yourself to shit while your hand is in the door" kinda thing...

That has been my experience. Some people are better at it than I.

Im still a littl stumped because the motor didnt move the window at all.. Youd think itd atleast move it a bit.. Could it be jammed on something?

Sorry Nick, I forgot the window motor on that driver's door was pooched. There is a spare here in my garage that came with the doors...come help me dig and it'll be yours! I'm thinking somewhere under the bench by the 57...maybe?

Dont be sorry, i watched a few videos and it appears i have to tape the window in place and swap the entire tracks and motor? Is this the case...?

Im thinking of taking the doors with me to bc and then bringing them to BB for blazinzuk so he can have the windows and what not. People are offering me way to little money for them. Id rather give them away.

I'm petty sure you can swap out just the motor, and I sure hope so because the motor I have here is not attached to any track.
