1990 K5 Build ( Ol' Blue ) : Rocker rust...

1650 bucks for a new OE hood painted black and the a pillar pulled. Brush touch ups on the door and fender since the whole truck will get painted eventually anyway. Goodbye cowl hood !

Also just moved into a new town and this is parked on the street often a block away from my place.

The name cranky is welded into the bumper.

I got most of that ugly trim off after inspecting behind it to make sure it wasnt just primer...:doah:... But with some luck it must have been replaced after this thing was painted. The trim on the doors is factory and will need a heat gun.. Which isnt in the budget yet but once i sell some art ill grab one. Its alot better but now the trim on the door is driving me a little nuts. I checked behind the chrome tailgate piece and its not painted behind there.. Ill take it off when i paint the truck. Anyone want some free trim pieces haha? tmp_14802-DSC_0146-1024x768-852736107.JPG tmp_14802-DSC_0147-1024x768505734536.JPG tmp_14802-mms_img-1753611284-37820586.jpg

Looks good both ways, I personally like cowl hoods but I guess if it doesn't fit the look you are going for then it doesn't work.

i just want to keep it as stock looking as possible, body wise that is

The rest of the truck needs paint, and Nick still isn't decided on color. No point matching it to one of the other shades of blue...

His old cowl hood was just EDP black. This at least is paint.

I know for sure I'm not going to paint it the color it is. Maybe ill go to the two tone dark blue set ups I've seen on some 80s blazers. But it may very well get painted black so at least this way it might never have to get painted again.

Managed to get the rear end gasket fixed after clipping a rock, air filter cleaned out and oiled , oil changed, rear tailgate window fixed for now, while i need to order new plastic rollers and sliders. Floors cleaned. Also picked up these front rust free fenders, no bondo, and these mint doors. Going to try to tackle the tailpan this summer, Rear quarters, door swap and front fenders. Most of the damaging cancer will have been cut out. My tailpan is getting getting worse. I finally have gotten the k5 bug back, but time and space are tough. I have a driveway to do it in, but my boss is also building a little shop i maybe able to use, itd be cramped but indoors atleast.

The fenders are even the two tone blue i was talking about in my last post back in october. Going to get the paint chips patched i think. Even if into rattle cans. I guess moving to the coast does have its benefits of blazer parts afterall

Damn, your tailpan has taken a beating since I saw it last just before you moved. I'd bet it had a lot of mud/debris packed in there, then the constant moisture on the coast went to work...

Glad to see you back to working on it! :zombie5:
