2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Im surprised how much droop the front end has... jk no im not gm has always brought the suck in the 2wd front suspension dept. I bet there is a bean counter sitting at a desk looking at plans.. saying uh no 6 inches of travel is as much as anyone could ever need.. meanwhile at ford.. lol scrub??!! who cares it has 10 inches of travel.. guy across the room says "thatll whoop some butt in the dezert" Meanwhile at GM "Sir it has to ride like a car... roadholding ability is paramount for our vision"

What leafs are you using?

I haven't measured this, but I'm picturing a strong lean with the front down low. Too low. :dunno:
Notice bolt hole for the leaf spring, and center of the wheel. Then picture the axle and sting pad under that line. Should work perfect.

Meh. I still think it will drop some. And there's already a lean in that second picture.

Take measurements before and after to see how wrong I am.

Last week and this week have been crazy with swimming lessons and the wife having to work late, so I snuck outside for a few things tonight. Only got 3 holes drilled before all my batteries died in my drill and my work light. So I took that as a sign to come in and fix a clogged sink. Got the rear measured up and started the install.

OH yeah, I am aware. I thought about going to buy one before I get back under there.

This is a good idea. They are cheaper than cordless drills, and much nicer for this sort of work. No use wearing out the expensive drill doing a job that it just isn't good at doing. It's like wheeling in a brand new Porsche. It may get the job done, but it's just not the best use of resources.

Acutally, yes. It rained all day Saturday, and half the day Sunday. Then we had plans Sunday afternoon. I did have some time Monday morning to finish one side, then the wife went on call so I had to watch my boys.
