2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
That makes sense. That sucks cause it's a new block heater. I'm wondering if I got it to close to the block or something.

What amperage are you drawing, and what is your breaker rated for? A 1500W block heater will just about max out a 15 amp circuit. A 1500W block heater + a 500W freezer defrost cycle will just about max out a 20 amp circuit (but only when running the defroster).

And tell us what resistance you find when you check continuity across the power cord pins.

Is this a problem that started when you replaced the block heater?

I was told the block heater didn't work, so I replaced it before the truck even came home.

I'll start with the fender one and see what's under there. Those have to come off for the front flares anyways.

I can still remember my blistered fingers in HS from removing that exact trim from my full sized 93 blazer. In fact I only had one side pulled off for a long time....lol

If there is discoloration, a little buffing and polishing will go a long way. I took the trim off mine to find some damage but it cleaned up to where only the most ocd notice it. Yours, being white, will hide that damage much better.
