That makes sense. That sucks cause it's a new block heater. I'm wondering if I got it to close to the block or something.
What amperage are you drawing, and what is your breaker rated for? A 1500W block heater will just about max out a 15 amp circuit. A 1500W block heater + a 500W freezer defrost cycle will just about max out a 20 amp circuit (but only when running the defroster).
And tell us what resistance you find when you check continuity across the power cord pins.
Is this a problem that started when you replaced the block heater?
