2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Maybe buy 2 new injectors per truck. Then they will all run just a tad bit better.

That's like giving a tiny amount of crack to an addict. It's just going to head downhill from there, the rest of them will be purchased shortly afterwards... :doah:

No, I need to get the rigs running and DRIVING before I throw more money at them. I have this wonderfully expensive pile of unused parts. It needs to shrink more before I add to it.

Wow injectors did that much huh?

Just 16 more things to buy lol
I know the list never ends. I will say this: Power wise, it feels about the same if not a hair better than my old 8.1 2500HD. But those are 2 different animals. I am very please, and very excited to tow a large load.

Again, that's the idea...

good to hear.

Now about that front axle.....

Lol, next on the list. Need to replace the exhaust for rear shackle hanger clearance. Then it's CCR time!

But no really, the tires that are on here are on borrowed time. They are starting to crack badly on the sidewalls, and one rear may have a slipped belt. So I need to get this axle under it so I can run my 285's and prevent myself from having to buy new tires that will only get used for a few months.

Plus, my dad is waaayyy to busy right now to squeeze my truck in for paint. So that's going to have to wait a bit.

I used to have that wallet quote in my sig line, until sig quotes were disallowed. Don't remember who said it, nor how many times it has been said. But, man, this place has had an expensive impact on my lifestyle. And I have some of the cheapest, recycled trucks around here. Would love to see the budgeting for some of the bigger builds. :eek1:

You could always lift the rear and put the 285's out back and two of the good old tires in front. Drive it around and I bet you'll be motivated to finish the front :D

And this paint talk is concerns me, you may need additional ck5 counseling.

I have definitely found a new love for these diesels. I constantly tell people, "these aren't bad engines, just misunderstood". My truck is a perfect example. Has hardly a single thing, maintenance wise, done to it and it kept on rockin. My buddy on the other hand, 270k miles on his and totally ruined him and his outlook on these trucks. Ruined him so much he bought a 7.3 Powerstroke...

I made a promise to myself when I got this truck, that I would do everything possible to keep it alive and on the road. And tow as much, and as often as possible to show people what they can do. I want to be the guy that pulls right along side some of the newer $50k trucks, and not miss a beat(safely at 70mph).

Full on Stockholm Syndrome. Looks like we have another lifer. :haha:

Amen! Just wish I had a turbo....

So the week after I towed the Jimmy to Tuttle, the rear tires (yes both) decided the slip some belts So the rear vibrates quite badly once up to speed. So tonight I decided to dive in a bit. Going to start with the rear since it's pretty straight forward, and easy to knock out.

Got the ubolts off tonight and lowered the axle down, then I was summoned inside for some daddy duties. I will finish up the rear 2in blocks and shocks tomorrow night.
