So during my second break-in period the damn upper hose came off from the intake manifold side - sprayed EVERYWHERE. I had anti-freeze inside (no windshield), all over the engine, a huge puddle on the floor....what a freaking mess. The timing is definitely off, but that's easy. I could not find a hose at any of our 3 parts stores, but I ordered one from O'Reillys and one from Napa. I'm gonna finish cleaning the mess and call it a weekend. I have an interview tomorrow (same company) and need to spend a little time thinking through that shit.
All said and done - I am stoked. I needed to see this thing run. Oh, and I ran it off the gas tank this time. Gauge does not work (shocker), tach in the dash is useless, but oil pressure is good, vacuum gauge works, and the 'battery' gauge works. Assuming I get the right hose, next weekend I'll bleed the brakes, set the timing, and put it in drive.........As soon as it moves (and stops) under it's own power - back to the body shop to get the front clip put on.
