Where was your Rav made?

Heard ya:waytogo:
Hey got an extra room in Chicago for the drags, you interested?

the dually looks perfect like that.
Thanks Luke, as Kert mentioned earlier, mine looks like the smaller version compared to his/your trucks...but its just what I had in mind...well so far anyway.

I know what ya mean Max...I bought my 85 new, after having a 71, 79, 80...really liked the truck but it was a basic 3/4t nothing luxo about it. Got a 96 C30 w/454...loved that thing but...totaled it, then I bought a 95 burb, loaded, got spoiled by it, so I sold the 85...and missed the body style ever since, and after working, and working, and working on the Maiden, and talking with Kert and Eric about dually tow rigs...a square body for a tow rig was the way I needed to go. So after having the 96C30 dually, I really liked the dually's after that one, and it stuck with me, so I put Eric on the hunt out west for one....they are pretty much non-existant in MI anymore, especially a roundeye year.

Ya, I'm a dually guy right to the core. All makes and models!
I am too Luke...just something about a big azz...on a truck anyway!:pimp:

So has anyone ever tried a super single setup?
I've seen a few with M/T sportsmans under them, but not sure about towing with them on?

big trucks are ALL going supersingle. they say its better on gas some how:dunno: Havent figured it out myself but I Rstupid too:D

As for the drags,, I'm not sure about stayin the night yet:dunno:

We have a huge company out here (200+ trucks) that went super single several years back, they don't have a single truck running em anymore.

Couple other smaller companys same thing, went super single several years back when they first came out and have been selling them off to go back to normal duals

Dave Bart is looking awesome man, diggin the wheels alot and the duratracs.

Squares are where its at fo sho

couple things on that.... super singles and floats are not the same. people call the ones that guys use on pickups, super singles, they're NOT. They are floats. Flotation steers that they use on all 4 corners, with different offset rims if its single wheeling a dually. Super singles are very different dimension from floats.

and the rush to use "super singles" on tractor drives was mostly for weight savings. If the tractor and trailer weight less, you can put more cargo on per load. It hasn't taken off though. more drawbacks than gains.

Luke would the M/T sportsmans be a float tire then? these are what I was thinking of, but don't imagine the weight rating is anywhere near close for a truck...

Exactly, and I for one wasn't pulled into this fad, and for a good reason which is what these companies are realizing: when you have a flat, you lose the tire.
No one has been able to save the tire because you get a flat and you don't realize till you are shredding the tire, and you are stuck there, while if you had duals, you can limp to a tire shop, and most times you won;t even lose the tire because it's not riding on it since the other tire is supporting the weight.
Now if they could do a CTIS for the drives, that will change my mind, they have it on trailer axles, which is nice.

thats more the shape of a super single. only much smaller.

float steers are much narrower than a 445/50R22.5 super single drive, but a 425/65r22.5 float is still almost twice as wide as any standard 11r22.5 tire.

I almost bought a CC dually in the round eye style like bart years ago with a huge set of them sportsmans on the back:waytogo: Thing was sweet looking. Had a custom stained wood console front to back loaded with speakers, 4 sports car buckets, lowered a little, tinted windows, and was black with a green-purple-yellow sort of striped flame job on the front. Built 454/th400 setup. $3800:eek1: and no rust. Had to drive about 6000 miles a month at that time to see my kid so I backed out due to gas costs:doah: Looked frickin awesome with those sportsmans though:thumb: filled the whole wheel well

I got plans for a custom console, but hadn't considered going to the rear with it...I need capacity for 5-6 people, so perhaps a split bench option might be needed for a front. I really liked the 40/20/40 in my 96, with the fold down center console in it...

thanks Heath, I'm liking it more and more...also picked up a spare set of 781's today, just because he only wanted 150 frogskins for them...hot tanked and magged...stock seats still, and needing guides...I would take them to my head guy if I ever needed them for either of the 454's.
