Well, been 4 months or so and she's fading from memory. Still amazes me sometimes nobody got hurt. Skid marks are still there and fence is still down. I drive by it almost everyday.
Got a few parts to get rid of, just been too busy to really finish getting rid of them. Have only had one person interested enough in the camper to come look at it. So I prob will hold onto that and do something cool with that down the road. Still think I can make a nice little expedition trailer out of it.
Kept the 400sb and th350/np205 out of the Chalet and going to use them in my 72. Greg D has the drivetrain going through it for me because seals all busted loose and I was a little worried maybe the driveshaft got jammed into the case hard enough to bust things. Local performance shop has the 400 and is rebuilding it. Getting vortec heads, a little bit of a cam and some other goodies. Engine should be done next week.
Actually, just parked the Jimmy today and pulled my newly Jet rebuilt q-jet and dizzy out to drop off so they can break in and dyno the 400.
Doing it a little more right this time. No figuring it out as i go along. Should have everything I need and the plan to R&R the thing front to back once I start, which I did today. Not getting fancy, just building it to run well, right and dependable.
Going to turn this
Into something a little more like this, just without the 1 tons.
Have a 2" lift kit, bilsteins, and new poly bushings/body lift from ORD here. Still deciding if I can spend the money and build my 1/2 tons up a little. Going to run them with 33's only, but expect the engine to put down some pretty good torque. Need a couple things from Kert and a few other odds and ends, but as of today my Jimmy is down until I get it torn down and all put back together. Finish out this fall with a roll cage and new seats. Should be a pretty smokin little truck.
