You don't get rid of it so you can air down to insane amounts you get rid of it because it is tall enough that even at moderate pressures you can pinch the sidewall between the run flat and a rock and that will rip the sidewall out.

I hate cutting em down. I got my runflats specifically for my pit bull 42s they went in super slick, I had run stock inserts before then and I not only had to cut the run flat section off but had to trim the edges of them too.

I have never not had to trim the edges of the runflat. All the bead bundles are different on every tire but not so different I can't use my runflats on say a swamper, but different enough if I were to run a smaller tire that was a radial I could not use my pvcs.

Maybe its cause I have done several sets, what a pain.

I don't think cutting down the mag inserts is too bad. Take a big hammer and knock out all the thinner matterial then a wood blade on sawzall and finish cutting bulk off. Use sawsall again to trim as close as possible. Flap disk smooth. Draw line against aluminum edge protector deal on the wider side then lightly hammer it off and cut line with sawzall again. Flap disk endge and tap edge protector on. Makes it right for width of my swampers. Take left over magnesium and have a bon fire. Throw water and ice on burning magnesium. Party.

So these stock mag inserts I have need to be trimmed for width also??? I got 39.5-15 swampers.

This magnesium fire party sounds fun. Im in zim :thumb:
October bonfire...I'll make an anouncment sometime close to then!

Hmmm sounds like I am just lazy

But yes the burning party afterwards is fun

So the stazworks will cut to size for your tires right? Is the install a bitch as I have read in other threads or is it easier with their inserts?

I measured the thickness of my tire bead then the width of insert minus width of rim and that 1/4" or so that I took off using the aluminum protector as a line guide was just almost perfect. Also lube the beads well when you bolt together and some anti sieze on the threads.

If you do like Matt said the install is slick, didnt take me long at all to put mine together, if you dont do the width measurement it can be very difficult

What problems are y'all having that forces you to trim the width of the mag inserts? While my k5 doesn't actually wheel yet I had 3 different set of swampers on my h1's without any issues. I mounted 42 tsl's, 47 ltb's and 43 SX's all on my h1's with the stock width mag inserts with no problems. :dunno:

At he bead area it's even with the rim, only the run flat sticks up above.

The correct size of PVC is a little hard to find from what I"ve read, and about 200$ for a 16' section....I say go for it Issaam.

Yeah $200 for a 16' section, each section is less than a foot so at a cost os $12.5 a piece, I have plenty of room for my time and some profit.
I know I am not going to sell thousands of those but if I can sell 4 sets at a time, I can do it and save people some $$$.
Out I go to check.
By the way those who have them, what is the ID on them?
