for some reason I thought you were speaking of these on the maiden. My confusion.

Looks good. Don't really need steering stops now.
I would still put them in and adjust them so they hit and are snugg when the ram is maxed out, that way there is no danger of the wheel hitting something and ripping the ram guts out like hitting it against a rock...
Even hydro assist will crush those stops in short order. Get em though, they are cheap, if your ram is extended past where it should stop, think about limiting the ram
I was thinking more along the lines of the stops hitting the same time the ram limits out.
I get the ram will overpower the stops, i like isaamm,s thought of using them, as long as they don,t try to limit the ram travel.Even hydro assist will crush those stops in short order. Get em though, they are cheap, if your ram is extended past where it should stop, think about limiting the ram
i think i,ll put them back in, this is an 85 model year axle, and the bolts were metric head...14mm, not sure what the thread is yet, but i,ll put new ones in as a extra measure of steering stop, in case something would happen to the ram.yeah, I can see your point. Don't hurt for them to be there.
so setting the stop with about an 1/8" clearance would work out?Yah i was saying if you use the stops to set the stop your ram can push past it, daves looks dandy the way it is

My axle was from an 86 truck (we pulled it ourselves) and it has the 3/8 fine threaded bolts in it....
