Are you talking about headers Adam? I think he has L&L headers or somethnig, but Hookers are pretty good, I like 'em. :D

Right Heath, L&L's...stout as they come!

so is it too late to turn back now???

Metal thickness is actually pretty good still, just those body mounts were getting weak.

The fuel filler will go, and have some new DIY4X fire extinquisher mounts coming too.

CC or K5?

I'll have Adam do that, I can't ruin a good thing here!

So Dave, are you going to get a dry sump oiling system now? Because I think your entire fuel and induction system is going to work a lot better than your wet sump oil pump now. You sit pointing downhill for a long time and you might lose oil pressure, Might as well....?

not a dry sump, but I've thought about a reservoir type system before....

only time I've noticed oil pressure dropping off was here:

That's only temporary, needs a dry sump, then you can sit on an angle until you run the fuel tank empty...:pimp1:

While I'm crapping my pants? Or screaming like a little girl?:eek1:

What if the scavenger pump can't pick it up though....really I think I'd be worried about other things before I got to that point!

I've discussed oiling with Matt Norby too, he had a 454 in his S10 and has been all but upsidedown, and he didn't have any real issues.

Thats why you have multiple pickups in all corners of the pan. Heck you could even put them in the valve covers worst case! Then you have vacuum in your crankcase too more power!

Was it "SixB"? that spun a rod because because of that?

In all reality I am just giving you crap because you are going all overboard super fancy schmancy on your fuel tank pickup system. Personally I would rather run out of fuel before I ran out of oil pressure. Run out of fuel most of the time is no big deal, run out of oil pressure once and it may be a big deal.

I follow ya Heath, sometimes too much is just enough!

running out of fuel is actually a big deal in the rocks Heath. I have seen plenty of guys roll because the carb sputtered and they rolled back a foot or so, or the engine dies because of it and causes you to go backwards. Running out of fuel is actually a really big deal in the rocks

Could be different with a 350 and I do run about a half quart more than I am supposed to but I have never had pressure drop off too much at some pretty stupid angles.
