Phreddei I was very meticulous about that when assembling the pan and pickup, having learned that early in my engine building experiences....I welded the pickup to the pump as well. I had 3/8" clearance between the pan and pickup.

Nice to see this amount of progress!!

Awesome work Dave!:waytogo:

I run the Fast XFI system,(intake, throttle body, fuel rails etc.) so I'm not too sure how much help I can be....??

As you said "43 lbs at the rails" seems to be their standard.
Same for my system.
My pump puts out just over 90.

If there is any info you need I'd be happy to share any of the solutions to the problems I had.

I did have to change my Jacobs ignition to an MSD-Digital-6AL
(prior to the Fast, the Jacobs was flawless..?)

The MSD unit works much better with the Fast comp.

I ended up going to the Holley DIS, distributor less system with coil packs and a crank sensor and this completely solved all my problems! Throttle response is incredible and no more ingnition issues. I believe Fast has this option under ingnition set up. I had MSD stuff on there and had trouble. I am running the Holley EFI so this was the correct way to go for me. I just can't believe the improvement this made for mine. I am running 82lb injectors now but for a BBC 48lb injectors is what came with the Holley kit. I needed extra fuel for the big motor & NOS.

Wow!!

Cool information to know..

No Surprise that your beast needs the extra fuel!!
Saw the mud rum!!! Sweet!

She wants the fuel when I run the NOS! 700 HP at the tires now when on the NOS & a little over 1,000 HP at the flywheel!! The DIS ingnition is Bad Ass!

so this MSD box needs a 12v from a keyed on source right (small red)?
I have the large red lead to the batt, and the large black to ground.

just figuring stuff out!

I have a switched on/off ignition w/ an overhead toggle (I wanted it that way, but didn't wire it myself) Now just trying to figure out which wires are what and wanted to make sure the little red was a on/run type source. I sure hope I get this all right the first time....my electrical buddy is in Hawaii, so I"m trying to figure this myself and I'm an electricaltard!

Would it hurt anything to run the MSD batt pos wire in the same loom as the FAST batt wires? The FAST inst. mention not to run the wire harness with any other wiring but I was thinking that is the sensors/injectors/etc wiring not the batt pos/neg wiring.
Also mounting the FAST on the firewall above the heater box and the MSD on the dash inside where the glovebox door once was...is that too close? I was thinking with the firewall and dash metal between them it would be ok?

I would not combine the two power wires, any change in voltage can cause you problems. Computer needs good clean power source.

Try to connect directly to the fuse box for the key power and the directly to the battery with main power. I put a new fuse box in mine so I new I had good clean power, this isolated all my engine management electronics so there is no interference from lights, stereo or anything that can steal power. I ran the key power to the blazer stock fuse box.

They each have their own separate supply directly to batt...I just want to run them both in the same wire loom...any interference with that?

I will have to see what he had wired up for the supply to the dist before, where it came from and if it was a clean signal or not....I was going to use that supply (Bat on the cap) wire to supply this MSD box.

Mike and John thanks...

Today I worked on the wiring and got the accel. linkage/cable done. Had to make a few "custom" pieces to work the factory cable and the Holley linkage together and a throttle return spring loop to attach them to.
Hopefully my fuel line parts from Summit showed up today.

Raiderblaz definitely gets the credit!!!

I don't think my 2 cents was much help but I'm glad you are making progress !!

I think John is right, you know what you need to do! Your like me, feel a lot better when someone say's "yep, getter done" Lol:waytogo:

I'm quite doubtful of myself when it comes to electrical stuff, so yeah the experience of the brothers is much needed to keep myself from more trouble down the road....I keep having this ugly thought of frying the computer or MSD box if I do something wrong electrically.

I hear ya, just make sure you solder all your connection and shrink wrap them. That way wires can't come lose and ground things out. Electrical tape just don't work for longevity if want it to last problem free.
