The handhelds from your plant are communicating to each other through repeaters Dave.. they won't go near as far or as clean sounding if the repeaters are turned off.. repeater systems are one of the things I have to deal with as electrical maintenance. A multi repeater system will allow the handhelds to go a LONG way. When they go down its hard to talk across the plant.

There's. Lot more interference in a plant too though, so not sure how well they would do on an open road

To get those blasted PVCs in the tire I like to stretch them to a vertical oval with a HI-lift, then push the tire down onto it. A little soap or something helps too.
