Is that kit the 1 3/4 or 1 5/8? looking forward to seeing it done. I was thinking about that one too but just wasn't sure if I would like it.

I believe its 1-5/8" diameter and .120 for the DOM cage.
The EWS is 1-3/4" x .134

GMC1977 Where did you order that cage kit from? i would like get one for my jimmy somtime soon.

Its from S&W racecars...
I can hook you up with the numbers and more specs on it when I get home tonight if you'd like:wink1:

Thanks Brett....my kit(s) are 11-1519, and 13-1519.
I will also add some tubing to this kit in a few areas for additional strength and protection, also.

Very interested to see what you think of the S&W kits once they are installed.

Bad experience, something to look out for?

I know guys who run their dragster chassis' and they look really nice....great craftsmanship on the welds.
I went by word of mouth on their chassis work.

Lots of people have used them. Not much of detail on how they worked out posted here (that I have seen). Just curious how it works out. How easy does it go together, how well does it fit, how much room do you end up losing in the cab? That sort of stuff.

Well the pic whore that I am, I'll be documenting it for sure.

For those not in the Lounge, my shop got broken into yesterday, so I've just dealt with the insurance adjuster only to find out that my deductible is 1K for the house, and all I can really come up with is the door damage.
Not worth putting in a claim for. I've been calling some security companies, and checking out some entry doors, and locks. I've been around the area today, passing out some Warning notices about the breakin, and just talking to some of the folks around here. Lots of eyes and ears, but nobody's seen nothing yet.

Bummer. I always hate to read or hear about an honest person getting burglarized. It's happened to me and I know the feelings of anger and violation, like you would just like to get your hands on the little bastards and beat the living crap out of them.

I hate to tell you, but they were after your motorcycle. That's why they came on foot. Probably had a lookout/getaway truck parked at the end of the street or around the corner that could warn them to get out of sight if anyone came around. If they couldn't start the bike, they would have loaded it in the truck and hauled butt. They've probably seen you riding around and found out where you kept the bike. Thieves usually come during the day when everyone is at work. Bad news is they've seen your Vette now and will be spreading the word around to their car stealing friends. A security camera would be a good investment right now. I would also check to make sure I still had all the keys to the Vette accounted for. Lots of times thieves will steal keys they see lying around and come back later to steal the car they go to.

I hope you can catch them and make them pay one way or the other.

Ouch. That sucks. Is MI a castle doctrine state?

They won't show up if they know he's around. They're smarter than that. Too bad you can't ask around and find out who did it then chase them down and shoot 'em. I think that's pretty much illegal in every state. I bet it would cut down on theft and petty crimes though.

explain?

Cop said I can't shoot anybody, unless mine or someone else is in a life threatening situation.....well they did have a crowbar

The way I see that law, is that the cops arent there to know if said scumbag is threatening you or not, and dead men dont talk. If they do have a crowbar thats enough for me. just make sure they dont get shot in the back.

Castle Doctrine. Your house is your castle and the law sides with you automatically as long as good judgement in defending you and yours is applied.

Yep.

As ridiculous as it sounds, a few states do have a law that says you must make an effort to retreat before you fight back against an armed and violent assailant. I don't think that statute applies within the home, but some unscrupulous prosecutor could file charges if the incident happened in your yard or shop. I don't know what the political climate is in Kalamazoo, MI. I think if I lived somewhere where I had to retreat, I'd just take one step back away from the punk(s) and open fire. That might be less messy anyway.

Michigan's law was that way until a few years ago. Generally law enforcement and prosecutors took the common sense approach that became the Castle Doctrine however there were events where the homeowner/law abiding citizen got put through the wringer by a lefty or someone with an agenda. Don't recall anyone being sent to jail for shooting a criminal though.
