I really look forward to the long rides on the bike....back and forth to work don't do a whole lot for me.

Also looking for a source for some heater hose 90* fittings....going from 1/2 NPT to 5/8 heater hose, and 3/4 heater hose. Either a barbed fitting or a ribbed fitting....any ideas?

5/8

3/4

or you could go the cheap route, run a 90 degree bronze street elbow, then thread a straight NPT to barb in that...

or........ you could get some marine stuff..... Groco makes these... not sure if they have 5/8.. i'd have to check....

I'd check Home Depot or Lowe's for that style. It looks like a fitting for that nylon/plastic water line that they sell these days. I could be wrong, but it sure looks like it.

Moses, I see that now that I took the plug out. It looks like one of those funky idle mixture screws.
It feels like they tapped the hole, but not with a pipe thread tap. It feels like the pipe plug could go all the way through. Is it supposed to bottom out on that APT?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but no, the plug does not touch the adjuster screw. The only purpose the plug serves is to fill the hole. I would check the hole a bit closer as it is tapered from the factory and if they did not ream it straight before they threaded it, a plug will stop pretty much as soon as it sits level with the casting.

Been to HD, Lowes, Menards, as well as NAPA, AZ, Pep Boys, Oreillys, and a few local places....none of them have it...funny thing is I got one on my Vette that is exactly what I'm looking for, and got it in town somewhere...just a big SOL locally.

I checked that out today Moses.....the pipe plug did go into the opening enough to get it below the top of the float bowl by a couple threads, but it didn't look like it was enough to hit the APT screw....that APT has a phillips head, and not an oddball head, like an idle mixture screw.

Get me a pic with the thread and hose size and I will get you a valid part number for it.

BGKY....I'll check out McMasters too.....

I went to the local Parker Store today, they didn't have anything in stock, so I'll probably just online search some, and place an order for the fittings I want.
Thanks for the help you guys!!!!

that one on the Vette looks like a couple of the ones from Summti i posted...

Yes it does look the same Paul, I'm sure I got that one local (many moons ago though) and was hoping to do the same again, but noooooo....its mail-order again. I've wasted enough time trying to find some fittings and stuff local, but no luck. $5 part shipped = $15:doah:

Well I got parts from DIY4X (Kert and Tracy)
Disc caliper mounting brackets, 3/8 rear cover, shackle flip brackets with shackles. The shock mounting kit, and the frame boxing kit are coming soon.
I got a 1410 U bolt yoke from Jesse @ H.A.D. and some axle seals, front pinion seal, pinion shim kit, crush sleeve, new yoke nut, and a Pinion pilot bearing (GM calls this a straddle bearing).

So off to the strippers the frame, gas tank, tank straps, an extra door (spotted with rust inside and out, otherwise new) a reciever hitch, assorted frame brackets, and hardware.

The 1410 U bolt yoke compared to the stock 1350.

The calipers needed to have a 3/8" tab removed from them to clear the mounting brackets: The ground off area is on the inboard pad mounting area of the casting.

Some of Kerts craftsmanship:

And some new wheel studs. These are Dorman # 610-194 and measure 1/2 longer than the SRW studs. They are applicable to a duallie. I need the longer ones because of the thick flange on my aluminum rims. These were only 1.99 each at Autozone.

if you dont mind me asking how much was it to get your frame and stuff stripped

Hey Bonanza....that was 250$ for that trailer load of stuff....BUT, they couldnt get the frame into the oven to bake it before acid dipping it, and it didn't do no where near as good a job as the rear axle housing came out....actually everything looked great, except the frame. In retrospect, I should have blasted that, and still will probably do that when I get done with mockup stuff.
I think there was more about the stripping process on about post #250 give or take 50.

Hell, that's easy, I don't even need the catalog for that one.

Four Seasons brand p/n 84776. Four Seasons is the largest supplier of mobile HVAC components so that is the easiest place to start. Any real auto parts store with a real parts guy should be able to get you one or cross-reference it into their number system (which is probably made by Four Seasons) and get you what you need.

If you can't get anyone to get off the computer and into a book, let me know and I'll get you a phone number to one of my associates and one will magically appear in your mailbox.

Wow Mosesburb...very cool bud, I really appreciate the offer. I ordered one of these from Summit today:

prm-15169_w.jpg

Which should work out real good, as it will fit under my fuel line nicely. I also ordered a shorter water pump outlet that will kick the hose out to the side sooner than the long outlet I have right now. should keep em from kinking.

All packed for the rainy trip to the Bridge and Soo locks...see ya Tuesday!

Bridgetrip002.jpg

leaving at 7:30 in the AM....with the rain suit on probably!

Still beats a weekend at work!

got home today bout 4:30...took a leisurely ride back about 300 miles today.

great trip...total mileage about 900miles. see the lounge for a thread tomorrow.

meanwhile got some parts from Summit today:

the heater hose fittings, and a water pump pulley spacer kit.

the parts I think I'll need for my crankcase evac system, some aquired from the excess shop bins at work:

I was checking out some towing specs for my 2500, (its only 8000???)
and ran across this unique tow vehicle/Altered combo:

altered.jpg

Unique in the fact that its a 63 photo, and that Vette is no older than 61, so earliest production would be Sep 60....So a guy has the $$$$$ to race an Altered and use a 2-3 year old Vette as a tow vehicle? way cool.

So I took a few minutes today to look at my Crankcase system again, and decided to go with a firewall mounted tank to run the valve cover breathers to, and then pull the PCV off the top of that tank to the base of the carb.

The fresh air supply to the valve covers will be a separate line from each valve cover to a separate tank for air intake to the system.
