Cut off the upper front shock mounts, as we will be making hoops off the engine cage:

Got the first front piece molded to the frame and welded in, leaving room for steering box access:

Got to the second piece and it covers the FUSH mount. Well Eric and I have discussed this a bunch and decided to leave this piece just tacked in place in case we needed to move the FUSH. As I was trying to decide how to tack such a long piece in, and then have to weld it in later while everything was in the frame I decided NOW is a good time to move it to a more optimal location forward to increase the shackle angle:

And those trinkets of items sucked up my 4 hours in the shop today.
I have been tracking your thread Jess, your making great progress man.Dave I hear yah as you can track it with my thread as well. I was gonna suggest that you leave that open, but as always you are already a few steps ahead.

Hey Chuli- you must be on the eastern side huh?
Hey Eric is coming and he's 1500mi.....but then he's in it for the free travel.![]()

Cause I am really really really really good looking![]()

i'm a marine mechanic, i like the MRI tube...We know your sic anyway Paul.
you HAVE to be anti-cluastrophobic to do my job..I can appreciate having to get into those mouseholes you have to somewhat, but until you've had to do it, I don't think one can fully appreciate what you have to do.
I've said it out loud a few times to myself when buried in some hole in a boat,
"I'd hate to be the paramedic that has to get my body out...".....
.....
keep up the diligence!![]()
After talking with the chief engineer on this thing, we've decided moving the FUSH forward 1.5-1.75" would work great....Eric has the same springs and comparable weight on his K5, and guestimates this would work out pretty good, so thats next before more boxing.
Today I wasted most of the day getting an MRI on my shoulder....stay tuned Rene'
Those fackin tubes they put you in suck. Felt like a sardine in there, and my shoulder hurt worse than it did before I went in there. Try staying perfectly still for 40 minutes under ideal conditions, let alone being crammed in one of those.![]()

I might have missed it, but are you using the FUSH with regualar length front springs (46") or are you doing a 52/56" swap?
If stock length, what length shackle are you going to run?

Sucks with the shoulder, hope it can feel better for you.
I hope I didn`t offend anybody with the payed trip coment, just thought it was cool that you would do that , and your friend is willing to come help you with your blazer for that long of a time. And with all the other guys coming over you all should get alot done.
GREAT work keep it up!![]()
