Everything is looking good Dave, looks like you getting better with that welder too. One thing that worries me. With that grab handle facing out, if you are grabbing it during a rollover, your hand will get crushed between it and the A pillar. Unless you grab the main bar and that bar protects your hand?

yeah that's it, a protector bar for your hand.... lets go with that!

actually it is a grab bar to get in the truck....it might be out of reach if the shoulder belts are on.:dunno:

cage is awsome man:bow::bow::bow:, glad I could be a part of it :thumb:

cage is lookin crazy.i dont think their will ever be a problem with gettin hurt in a rollover.i like the wheelie to do the under painting.need pics for sure.lol

Well as someone mentioned, I may have more than I need, but better that way than someone getting crushed back there....but again, if the going gets tough, the passengers are getting out and watching.....or so goes the plan anyway.

Dave, do you still plan to have it ready to wheel this summer? We need to get that thing out on the dirt.

yeah I do Heath, obviously its taking way longer than I want, bout ready to finish the cage, and then reprioritize my list.

Dave that is one good looking cage. I am incorporating some of it into my dads cage. The fact that it goes all the way back to the rear.

Jesse when you get to doing your Dads cage I have a couple ideas that I think would alleviate a lot of the problems we had with Daves

Zim, wow very nice man. That cage turned out to be a beast should hold up well to a multiple rollover at silver lake:D:D:D

Kidding don't you dare roll it till at least you are out in Moab with it. Can't wait to see wheels and tires on it.

I'm starting to bend tube for mine tomorrow. Once I have mine pretty much buttoned up then maybe starting on my dads. He ordered his lift I think so that will be the first priority. don't be too surprised if my cage looks similar to horton, because I will be turning my k20 into a blazer or whatever horton is now :D

I will send you more detailed pics if you want em man :D

Dave this turned out amazing!! All the compound bends make the cage look very custom  I'm siked to see it all painted up with wheels and tires, your making me want to go wrench on mine :thumb:

i love it.

Seems you care more about the passengers than yourself though, not much tubework in the cab.

I was expecting at least a dash bar, and maybe some door bars, even a single windshield bar.

But i guess the cab is there for some protection over a full vert

Cool Jess, I like that fact too. Open rear seating should have plenty of protection this way, and it gives me a little area to store a recovery/tool box and cooler and stuff back there.

I won't roll it now that I have insurance:haha:

Great stump... a little motivation is good for eveyone. I know I need a good kick now and then.

YOur right about that Chris....here's how I got it figured...the front seats set pretty close to the B pillar hoop...the B hoop is supported by a 4x12 plate on each side directly to the kick up area of the floor, then the tie in plates go directly from there to the frame. The B hoop has a lot of other bars tied into it including the front halo, and down to the A pillar bars, again tied in directly to the frame, and the engine cage is tied into the A pillar bars. The halo also has some diagonals in it.

I do have a dash crossbar to put in yet....forgot about that, its laying on the cowl right now. Eric did ask about putting windshield bars in, maybe a single down the middle would be a good idea, the door bars are definitely out, although there is a bar across the bottom from the B hoop to the A tubes, and I have a hard enough time getting in it, like it is:D
Also would like to get some tube doors on it, which would help there too.
Seems like Eric said something about making a set for me, if I got this thing to Moab this year.....:bow:

Yeah, this was definitely a consideration also....I know its no cage, but its a first layer of protection there before anything gets to the cage.
