The wheel well strech Rick did on the computer looks awesome... but quite a bit of work to do for real, with the inner fender wells and all.

Still trying to figure out a quick release grab bar for the rear passengers....I know my grandaughter would feel more secure having something to grab onto.
I've thought about running a bar from side to side (just for a grab bar) but it could possibly be forced into a structural part if a side impact occured. So thinking that way leads me to make something easily put in place once the rear passengers are in their seats, and it could be a simple quick release pin attachment that would clamp onto the seat belt bar in front of them.
Kinda like a roller coaster would have.

I've seen a post that folds up with a sort of handlebar setup for them. With as much of a cage as you've got you'd have to wad the whole structure up for it to touch them.

I did the whole side of the maiden to see what itll look like I'm having fun with this paint stuff. Now that i've figured it out I'm gonna do some of my stuff. Time to take a bunch of pics of my trucks.

So I got throwing some pieces of tubing around in the pass compartment, and came up with making some Tee bars that would slide into a "reciever" that is connected to the middle spreader bar on the B pillar hoop.
I will make it out of 1.25 and use 1.5 for the reciever tube. I'll make a few holes in it for adjustability to suit the pass.

Something like this is what I have in mind:

Imagine if you will the B pillar lower spreader bar where the T handles would be attached...

Dave, that looks pretty good. However, if you start at the top of the tube, and work your way down both sides, it will look much better. It will flow in easier and lay down smoother.

And I really like the dash bars and window bars, nice work!

I know folkenheath knows his **** but i just wanted to say that the Weld looks awesome to me. Then again, I'm the bird **** welder.

Well, that is one of my better welds for sure, I have my share of rounded beads, and LLS welds too! Only good thing about some of them is they still have good penetration.

I got a few hours in the shop today before work, so I worked on a few more misc items on the cage stuff. The dash was cut to put the A pillars in, so I patched those up, and welded the sheetmetal of the dash to the A pillar on the bottom.

Put a few more plate gussets in

Made a hole for the fuel filler neck

And made another grab bar for the front pass

worked on the pass rear fender today....RUSTY!!!!

I ended up hacking the bottom part of the fang off in the rear, it was pretty bad...like swiss cheese.

Yeah, it went much better than expected....I was hoping this wouldn't be another episode like the exhaust was...blowing holes in it....

I will try to get a pic of the big tires on it, when I can get it outside again.

yeah I think that bar will get used, just for reassurance purposes

put the big tires on today to see how fender clearance is looking, and it looks like I should open the inner fender well some, or use a spacer on these wheels?
