Are you going to do something with the grinder marks in your bondo?

Sorry to sound like a dink but they are driving me nuts... the rest of the truck is too nice for that.

A few hours of time and it would look so much better, doesn`t have to be perfect, just get the rough edges out of it.

Hope you don`t get mad at me.:D

If you had seen the rest of the truck like those of us who have seen it in person, the grinder marks would no longer drive you nuts, cause you know about everything else! :haha::haha:

hahaha, no problem, I gotta get the basics done and proven before worrying about luxuries like body and paint now....we'll see how well the next 30 days treats the progress. Also have had some offers of a better tub to start with. So we'll see what happens to this one in Moab, and go from there.

Hey Eric, you dissin' my clean MI tub?

I think having it cut this way looks better, and I'd go with a straight cut where it meets the halfcab.

Rene

I'm with these guys.

Sounds like thats it then, I gotta take it back off anyway, so I'll make the mods then.

Well ya must not have checked my thread so ill post it here lol.

Nope not at all, just the outstanding body work done previous to the time you had it :D

I think Rick and I knocked a solid 50 lbs of rust out of the truck in just the first few days of build week :haha::haha:

I think those were called rockers but they didnt quite looked like 'em:rolleyes: And then there was the 1" thick stuff at the bottom there that made a cloud in the shop when I tried cutting through it:whistle: I think there was at least 5# of mouse nest too:D But for the the intended use I dont think you could have gotten a better K5. who wants to hack up and bash a pretty one.:thumb:

I never thought it should be perfect...just backfill the trenches.

Deuling, cool jeepster, I`ll go check it out on your thread.

no, just say you were out wheeling around some REALLY jagged lava rock and you got some strange dents. it would increase your cool points, and give you +10 hardcore points.

I hate those AMC front ends on them, although it did allow them to bolt a 401 in there easily. I haven't seen that one up there before, a couple others, another red 68, and a brown 72.

OK, well you know the sh!t we have to deal with first hand in the rust belt now don't you!:waytogo:

Right Rick, and $500 for the whole truck I thought was a fair price. At least my frame is cherry!

.

Thats funny Max....backfill the trenches, bout sums it up too!

Those quarters looks like they were scabbed together, I don't have much love for em anymore. I'll use that line though if anyone asks Colby...lavarock is harsh, ask Eric!

I'm just waiting till Moab to watch the stuff fall off in chunks.

Your so mean Keith, show some love for my bitch will ya.:thumb:

Did get the battery cables made up and run today...

I used 1/0 for the cables, and used 1.25 id spa hose for the protective conduit to run them from front to back.

The negative is bolted to the cage, then directly up to the block. From the block I will run a 10ga. jumper up to the radiator support. The positive runs from the master kill switch up to a remote solenoid, then it will have a 2 ga jumper to a junction block, and the other side of the solenoid to the starter.

got the rad support put on today, and the radiator and coolers, and went to put the fan on, and found interference against the surpentine drive system.....I think I can nudge the body forward a little, but then what. Anybody know of a different pulley or fan motor I could use?

Here is the interference....

I put my windstar fans on the other way (you have them upside down from the way the factory uses them). Kind of dumb of Ferd to put the connectors facing up, but the motor drain holes are on the other side anyway. They cleared mine but I did have to shorten the shroud a little by cutting a 1/4" off all the way around using a razor blade and a hot knife tip on my soldering gun.

If you flip them around they might clear becuase the other motor is much shorter.

any problems with it hitting the PS pump swapped that way Heath?

I was thinking maybe if I do the trim as you suggest and nudge the body forward a little on the frame it might be enough....I'll check it out. thanks

Since I trimmed it there are no problems, enough clearance I am not worried, although I had two different year windsar fans, and they were two different thicknesses and sizes. But I believe I used the exact one you have, with the connector on the smaller fan sticking out perpendicular to the motor axis. The other one had the connector sticking straight into the pulleys.

Family is rolling in tonight for a reuinion this week....6 bikes in the garage tonight maybe two more tomorrow....From Maine, NC, and New Brunswick.

funnernhell...
