if i call before like 3, it's at my job before 10 the next day...

not always THE best pricing, but convenient as he!! for me...

Convenience has its price for sure!

cleaned and sanded down the fenders, and give em a fresh squirt of RAPC Green! Sanded up the emblems Kert made, and give them a squirt of Hemi Orange/School bus Yellow. I think they look killer on the fresh fenders....

very nice.. that'll work... dig the emblem... i need some from kert.. like CC502EFI or something... :haha:

Yep, nice little custom touch....I got a pair for Bart too! One of them was missing, and they're not available through the cat's....I like the Bowtie emblem better than the starburst that Chevy used too!

Got one inner fender on, and the outer hung loosely. Gave the inners a quick scrub with Dawn, then some Acid etch, then a blast of Zinc, and some satin black....should last while I'm at Silver Lake anyway...

These emblems are longer and slightly taller than the originals, had to drill new holes so they would sit flat on the fender, not in the curve.

My back is toasted tonight...can't hardly walk, so time to get off it.

I'm off to the drags in Chicago in the AM, hooking up with Shady, and Kert, gonna be a scorcher....see ya's on Monday!

Hope to see ya next week friday dave!! And if ya can hook a brotha up with some vouchers... Maybe saturday too!!! Have a good time at the drags!:thumb:

good time at the drags...Heath, didn't notice your family there, but there was so much we didn't walk around to see..pretty dam hot weekend.
Had a pretty strong storm go through Friday night...we just got out of the track parking lot and ran head into it...some trees down, and alot of power outages, went right by a substation as it blew up...freaky stuff.
Rick and his family made it down Friday, got to hang with them for a bit, Kert and his family came down Friday...pretty long drive for them, good to hang with Kert again...we all had a good time, despite the heat. Just reaffirmed what I've know for the last 40 years....NITRO is King!

Got the Maiden done enough to run the dunes...inner fenderwell's are in, put it all back together last night, made a few last minute tasks this AM, and had to push it outside to put the big tires on it.....haven't stuffed the tires yet, but we'll check that out...took it for a test run down the road, NO DEATH WOBBLE....yeah! Hydro assist is doing its job!

Got to load it on the trailer, and pack the truck, should be outta here in about an hour

Want to see a picture of bart towing the maiden!

Have fun dave I am going wheeling tommorow morning too, assuming my head let's up a bit

Make sure you got ur phone on ya dave so i can get a hold of ya. Gonna try and tackle my gas line problem tonight so i can meet ya up there friday hopefully!

Looks good dave. No beadlocks yet?

Nope, got a discussion going a while back on that, and I decided I didn't n need to look for something else to burn time on, so I will try to find another set of tires to put on those rims, and I'll run the 39.5 TSL's on the aluminum slots...

Friggin' hot here Eric, going to be a test of the 99 getting up there, but I'm sure it'll do it...Bart don't have air, and I don't have a brake controller on it yet either...someday...have fun wheelin' yourself!

Glad I checked this again, I still gotta throw your tires and Kert's sh!t surprise on thetrailer for ya.

Dam it was HOT...temps in the 90's everyday cept yesterday, made for uncomfortable camping, but the Maiden worked pretty good at the dunes...power is king when climbing deep soft sand...I only aired down to 14#, but the power of the 454 kept the tires diggin good...Really glad I went with the BB for this reason.

The first big improvement with the hydro assist worked great....took away the death wobble, what a huge relief that was.

Had a fuel issue I need to address...which may involve a new fuel tank. My vent line isn't allowing me to fill the tank without backflushing the fill tube...the problem is that the vent tube isn't above the fuel level to allow the fumes to escape when filling, and thus preventing the fuel from pressurizing in the filler tube.

Also had some electric fan relay issues still, blew one fuse, replaced it, then it seemed to work good until I went nose deep into a water hole....may have put a heavy load on the fans, as I forgot to turn them off for the dunk, anyhow melted another fuse holder, but was able to still work the fans, that engine definitely needs both of them working.

And a very sporadic issue of power completely cutting out when under full throttle...the engine just died about 4-5 times over the week.
Right after that I would fire it up, and it would be fine...perhaps an electrical gremlin. I hit the rev limiter quite a few times, and perhaps there is an issue with that, as there may have been some connection with hitting the rev limiter then when shifted to the next gear and rpm brought up the truck would die about 3500 rpm.

Anyhow, overall I was pretty happy with the performance of the Maiden, and am looking forward to another romp in the sand.

my SIL took a few pics climbing one of the hills.

There were so many sweet trucks out there, seems the dunes are more for pretty trucks than bashed up rock crawling trucks :dunno:

Met up with Dueling, his buddies Craig and Nate on Sat.
I had a couple buddies run earlier in the week with me, so spent 4 days out there over the week, went through about 35 gal of fuel in the Maiden...not much street time, mostly on the dunes.

HPIM3848800x600.jpg

Also met up with Blue85 (Luke) and his family....really good to meet them, Luke has a great family, we ran around some on the dunes, had lunch, then went to get back in and they wouldn't let him in with the factory top and no roll bar, or helmets for the kids in the back.....stupid rule, as it requires a steel top, not fiberglass...Luke is persuing this more I think.

I hate when the dnr go on a power trip. I have always been fine taking a k5 in with no roll bar and the factory top.

The maiden rules Dave! Once you get those bead locks on so you can air down more, you wont even hardly need to touch the gas climbing. Thanks for the rides dave!:thumb:

Wait...they've been letting rollbar-less but fiberglass topped Jeeps, Blazers, Broncos, Scouts, FJ-40's, and hell, even lucky Samy and Tracker/Kick owners since day 1...

...so now they have a problem with it? Hell, I know people that have taken soft top CJ's in!

He did not get denied entry because he had no roll bar. He got denied because the people in the back had no helmets on. If your top comes off, even if you leave it on you need roll bar, roll cage, or people in the back wearing helmets. He could have gotten in had he put his kids in the back in zims rig or with us and then had them hop back in when we got in the dunes.
