Very nice work, Dave. The hold down along with the rest of the box came out looking really good. I don't see that bouncing around anywhere.

Thanks guys, I think it will hold up to abuse and be plenty secure as well. The horizontal mounting will hold a typical 11x7x8 (approx size) as well

Really never got started today. Power was on when I showed up and shut off about 10min. after I got in the door.
Did what I could to keep the temps from falling to far.
I hope the winter storm that is predicted for tonight doesn't compound the problems.
Didn't we countersink some bolt holes on that tray?

We did countersink those holes, but I musta forgot the countersunk bolts at your shop???....I got some at the local hdwr store yesterday though, looks righteous now!

sometimes OEM is the way to go Jim....custom requires many hours of work, sometimes its good, sometimes its not...this time it turned out good!
Out with the old....Adam is going to run this Stage III JET carb on his truck and see how he likes it.
I took it off to get it sent to him, and then got messing around with fuel line fittings and such to get those pieces ordered.
From tank to pump -8, from pump to hard line -6, from hard line to FI system -6.
The walbros have a fine mesh screen at each pickup, and the pump inlet has a fine mesh screen as well, so I will use the fuel filter up by the engine just before it connects to the FI system.
The adapter for the hardline to -8AN looks like it will work well, allowing me to use the existing in frame 1/2 stainless line I was using for the carb.

I did John, I started it up on the engine, ran it pretty limited in 2011 and 2012...I believe most of my problems were fuel pickup related. It ran great most of the time, but at times felt like it would run out of fuel (sucking air at the tank I believe) or at an extreme angle it would stall out. I think it should work great on Adam's 406! It is a very responsive carb on the 461.

If the tank wasn't 3/4 full you would have trouble for sure.

Yep, had power at home almost completely uninterupted. Our lines are underground over here so not so problematic.
There are alot of people in Little Rock, praying for electricity tonight. Setting up shelters in nearby towns to get folks out of the cold.

Any more info on this half track? My dad owns a Scout carIt will be my Dad's 82nd birthday Monday, and he is coming out to spend the morning/early afternoon with me working on the Maiden...then I'm taking him to the local cafe' for a lunch!
