'78 K10 Build

Maybe I missed it, but are you going to be able to use the same master cyliner and proportioning valve?

that is what I have. K30 fronts and the smallest piston front caliper I could buy.

I did the same thing on my 30, I used a set of calipers I had bought years ago for a stock K5, they seem to work great on the rear.

I think that's what im going to do. Just look for some half ton calipers for cheap cause I don't wanna spend $100 on reman calipers.

Going rate around here is usually about $15 each at the chain stores .

Yeah, reman half ton calipers are $16 here in Albion. I have a bunch of old ones for cores. I would see what you have for front calipers, my guess would be the smaller ones. Then move those to the rear, and put the biggest three quarter ton calipers on the front. That is what I did on my V10 Suburban, and I didn't change anything else in the braking system.

How can I identify which calipers are which? I guess my question is, do I tell a parts or brake store " I need the biggest 3/4 ton calipers I can get??

The 1/2 ton and light 3/4 ton calipers are the same. The HD 3/4 ton calipers are part of the JB8 option code. They will ask you if it has HD brakes....those are the bigger pistoned calipers.

Mine must be light 3/4 ton. They look tiny.

Inner seals did their job and kept the sand out.

Probably going to replace all the seals and bearings in the front axle considering how much sand came out of everywhere. **** sand. Im trying to figure out a good way to clean out the axle tubes. Might just run a hose through them idk.

Brought a **** load of parts to work today to clean in the parts washer.
