80 Jimmy - The Monkey Paw (Time to finish interior)

Idea with this was to build it robust, and simple, and utilitarian. KISS principal.
It's a good time for sure. Too bad you can't make it this year

Technically, my truck's not even 4wd yet. Got 4.56 up front and 4.11 in the back. Found a good price on some thick cut 4.56, but wasn't sure if I wanted to get a different carrier - or if they made a lunchbox for the carrier I had or what..

Was having a problem recently w/ the choke not kicking off after it warmed up. Traced it down to some monkey ****ing wiring that was done by one of the po's.... Infact found a few things that I'll prob be redoing.. :doah:

I can tonight... You wanting to see the fat guy again.. lol. Seriously, it's pretty easy on the lift/lower the amount of 'gearing' you get over the tire is pretty easy. The hard part is getting the 2 studs lined up when mounting the tire onto the plate. Ended up w/ 2 studs on there with lugnuts w/ a steel plate over the top for security. Then the big wing nut on top to hold all of that tight. Drilled the big rod out and put a 'shutter lock' on the end to keep honest people honest. The big rod is a chrome moly 1.25" hardened all thread.

Doubt that's a million dollar idea there.. So long as I get a mention copy it all you like.

Had a jimmy years ago w/ 35's and man these tires seem a ton heavier.. Wasn't sure if it was the tires or the fact that I got older and fatter..

I'm gonna vote old and fat. At least in my case

Yes they ran the rollers. Held it at 33mph. And yes, the whole emissions thing is a farce. Washington state has pretty much done away w/ emissions. At one point CO was looking at it. Studies said that new vehicles pass, and old vehicles are either maintained or don't get any miles so emissions testing doesn't make any benefits.

Haven't messed w/ the timing other than when I replaced the heads on it 2 yrs ago. Set it to factory spec. Not sure what the advance is on it. Haven't mapped it out. Been busy doing other stuff. At some point I may mess w/ it. Would like to get an A/F meter.
