That's ear stretcher is a great idea. Nice work!It seems like every time I mess with old shafts I bend the ears in a bit and have to open them back up. The old joints wouldn't come out for anything but the new ones just fell in.

Yeah you can grind off the weld. These will probably be the last joints these shafts seeWith the caps tigged can you grind the welds and get the caps out later on if needed?
Yeah I figured they wouldn’t fail anytime soon but just in case. That’s cool though. I like the idea.Yeah you can grind off the weld. These will probably be the last joints these shafts see
What locker did you go with?
Looks great.
That is a great deal, nice. That D60 is turning out awesome. Its a Spartan locker. They have worked great for me in the past. Plus I got this one for $200 new on ebay, so it was hard to pass up
I'd helicoil it or drill and tap it up a size.well damn. I found the first problem with this axle. Two of the bolt holes are stripped for the lower cap on my right side knuckle. I didnt clean the holes or bolts until today. Half of the threads for those two holes are still in the bolts
The question is. should I drill and tap, replacement stock knuckle, or just buy a Reid for that side? It would allow me to run the 5th stud on that steering arm.
