yea, just take the valve lift given at the 1.5 ratio, divide it by 1.5, that will give you the actual lift of the lobe, then multiply it by whatever ratio you want for your rockers (1.52, 1.6...etc)

So..... good news. My trans is leaking between the coupler and tail. I checked the bolts holding the two together, and they were all loose. SECOND DAMN TIME ive discovered a leak due to that transmission shop not tightening sh!t down
Its an o ring between the transmission tail, and x-fer case coupler, correct? So a good retorque, SHOULD stop the leak?

mine just had a rtv gasket but it may have been replaced at some point....either way i would try tightening it up first since its much easier, and check every so often to see if its still leaking.

Geez, im reading about cracks causing the bolts to come loose. Geeezzzzz im gonna douse it with brake cleaner too and look for cracks. Fml

Loose bolts cause the cracks which loosen bolts. If its cracked, most likely it was because of loose bolts. I have broke 2 adapters and busted the t-case off 2 times. It brings the suck.

Just got a break at work, nd went and checked. There doesnt appear to be any cracks. The loose bolts are a result of stripped threads. So looks like ill be pulling stuff apart, and putting 2 helicoils in. Fack. Its the bottom holes that are stripped.
Any other known solutions???

Best idea would be to helicoil everything. I just did a np208 and we just did them all. Aluminum isnt steel. And I hate dropping t-cases.

Im doing them all as we speak. Im also puttin new seals in the 208. Ill have it all back together tomorrow.

Well heck yeah! The motor apparenty has new lifters, but really, im not gonna risk wiping out a motor, over $30 more for a new set of lifters

Very little progress with the build, but still some fun blazer sh!t
The idea is straight forward. Back up in between the posts, and shed, crawl into the back andlift up the shell while your pregnant fiancee slides the 2x4s underneath. After its up just pull out from under it, and zip a couple screws into the cross rails to help hold stuff in place

New motor is underway-
Goodies-
Removed the stock cam, and cleaned most of the gasket surfaces. Tomorrow cleaning will continue, and when i am satisfied, the new cam will be installed, along with the swirl port heads, and air gap intake.

looking good man, make sure you cover the lobes of that cam with something that wont drip off until you start it!

Yeah, they sent me some break-in lube with it. Just doesbt seem like theres gonna be enough of it. Guess well find out. I was really wanting to slather the sh!t on, but i guess id have to buy some in that case.

Use a distributor, minus the spring weights and cam gear, and prelube the hell outa that thing. Me personally, I just did that for the first time here recently, I usually use the starter to prelube, but its a good idea. Make sure you read the break in of that cam right, usually you have to run them right off first fireup to around 2000 rpm and hold for around 10 to 20min or so. Crazy on a cold new motor I would think, but they say its ok.
