That's good enough. I was mostly curious. Still thinking I'll end up with a K5/Burb tank in mine too.
my only advice is not to mess with the 25 gallon tank, that was a waste of my time with a thirsty BBC. Hopefully the EFI helps a little too.
Sorry if you mentioned it already but what did you use for the tank skid frame?
It has to get around the leafs to get there also

The shackles/leafs are going to provide some protection in some scenarios but not enough for the wheeling I plan on doing.

It's amazing how pointy rocks will find their way into places they don't belong. Fence posts and logs do the same thing. I scratched the bottom of my cab and busted the slip yoke housing off my 241 with a slab of concrete once too.

I've been thinking about skid tank fabrication for mine as well. One thing I've been considering, since I want to run the 31 gallon tank, is can the top of the frame be modified some so as to raise the tank? I'm sure You'd need a body lift for this. It looks like you're giving up a few inches of GC with that design and maybe you wouldn't have to if you could go up with the tank at all?
This was something I considered, posted pics and discussed earlier in the thread (few pages back). The tank would need to be modified a little or the frame rails would need to be trimmed. In the end I was losing bed space and gaining unusable space under the bed. Just didn't make sense....
Sorry.....I've been reading backwards and just got to the part where you're trying to figure this out. Plus, I forgot you're working on a truck and not the K5.
I like it. It's leaps and bounds better than a factory located blazer tank, and you have plenty of protection if need be. Plus saving the bed space is nice.
Boxed the back of the frame on either side of the gas tank.
Then I moved onto the muffler which i needed to add hangers/brackets to secure it. After burning in the first bracket/hanger I realized the exit was about 2" from where the shock would be. So I moved the muffler about 8" forward, added a couple crossmembers and brackets for the hangers to mount to. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

That's correct, the original k5 design doesn't use straps on top. That's something I came up with. I'll add some anti squeak material between the upper and lower straps and the tank during final assembly.
And yes, that's Kerts anti-wrap and back bone setup. The crossmember that came with the kit isn't being used, with the added doubler length I had to go a different route.

You could use the k5 crossmembers which will hold the tank, lower straps and I believe the stock skid plate. Removing the bed is worth the time If you can.
