Interesting. It's always been my understanding that both Ford and Dodge 205's all had 32 spline front shafts.

apparently that is true. Both are rare as hens teeth these days so I don't pay much attention to it.

From ORD's tech page "Ford and Dodge NP205's use 32 spline fixed outputs front and rear, always."

I forgot to mention that NWF recommended that I use a retaining compound for the input bearing in effort to keep it seated better. I should have all the parts and supplies to reassemble the case by mid next week.

I use that shit to hold helicopter transmissions together. It’s awesome. Make sure everything is really clean and use the 205 locktite primer. It comes apart with some heat and a press.

When do you need it by? I’ll be in sac this weekend and could get some to you by Monday? Or so

Not really in a rush, within the next week or so would be fine. I’m still waiting on a bunch of parts for both t-cases. I’ll be in Chico Monday but around all weekend if that works out. Otherwise I can order it online. Thanks

Just caught up from page 175. Do you still intend to put the factory dash back in, or have you given up on that?

that was a lot of reading.....

I decided not to install the factory dash after trying to make it fit. I still have some panel ideas to clean it up a little but it hasn't been a priority.

Still waiting on ORD to ship the 205 rebuild kit so I've been knocking out some other items.

I noticed the front diff cover is leaking, no surprise since it's seen plenty of action in the last 4 years. I had to use a chisel and a hammer to remove the lower bolts since the heads were worn off. I used a flap wheel to clean up the mating surface on the cover and reinstalled with some grade 8 flanged bolts I bought off amazon.

Another partially completed project was the bumper tie-in's that I started last fall when I fixed the passenger side. Now the drivers side is fixed and tube was added.

My battery box was mounted to the firewall using 4 bolts with fender washers however it began tearing the firewall last year during our father daughter fordyce trip in May. I added a ratchet strap for added support and ran it all year however it would still squeak sometimes and it needed a proper fix. After a few ideas were tossed around I decided to make a simple triangulated bracket that supported the bottom of the tray and could be easily removed with four bolts.

the bottom bolts & nuts are accessible from outside the cab through that pinch weld.

cage tie-in's are another project that's been postponed, for no good reason, so I jumped on that too.

Lot's to do still:
1) Rebuild NP205, reassemble ECO box & install cases
2) Continue Cage tie-ins
3) Replace fuel filter (ditch fitech filter for later model silverado)
4) Install new fuel pressure gauge
5) Reinforce skid plate and add more front driveshaft clearance.
6) Fix leaky tire valve
7) lots of other $hit I can't remember right now....but it's time to go wheeling.

Damn, you were busy!

I wonder if something like a button head would survive the diff cover any better or if it would just end up being worse than the standard hex head...?

they tend to get destroyed easier because the smaller head. I actually have them on the rear cover, they came with the Barnes 13 bolt cover.
