'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

Finally got around to checking the nitrogen charge in the shocks and bumps. Apparently 8 months is too long to go. The shocks only had 120 psi and the bumps had 20 psi. I knew it by the way it was handling the whoops at koh.

But then I'll have to buy a nitrogen tank and blah blah blah.

What psi did you have them at? I have my coilovers and bumps at 200

Yeah I bought a tank and fill setup a year or two ago because my buddy has kings on his jeep and I knew I would be getting them and figured it would be handy. You should definitely find someone local to fill them for you. They have to be near empty. I know locally here it’s like 20-40 bucks l have heard.
I put the shocks at 180 and bumps at 100. Had the bumps at 75 and would occasionally bottom them out. Figured I step it up a little more at a time. I don’t drive near as hard as you do though. :burnout:

@ktmoutfront and @miniwally told me what psi to set them at and I haven't looked back.

I'd have gone this route if I could have found TPI parts cheap

I think its the best factory injection setup, and can go without a VSS in the transmission

The stock tpi is a great induction system IF you don’t care about high rpm breathing. It falls flat on it’s face after 4500rpms or so. But the torque from idle to that point is wonderful. To feed real hp you need to buy big dollar runners/plenum/manifold/throttle body etc...
Perfect for a truck but not a racer.

Meh, factory LT1 will turn 5800 easy. With a 750 throttle body and some warm ups, they go 6500
