'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

I believe it could be the hot weather. Ever since it got hot both my computer controlled cars are having the same problem starting during the heat of the day when the engine is cold. I think it could be that when the weather is 115 degrees the O2 sensor is also at 115 degrees, which is the same temperature an O2 sensor starts to lean out the engine, but the engine tries to start in rich/cold mode. This causes the vehicle to go loopy, and run like crap for a minute until the vehicle goes into lean mode. Or I could be I am full of sh!t, and I do not know what I am talking about.

I will agree that this heat is not helping. You are not the only one bringing up weird issues. About two weeks ago, my 2017 ram work truck cranked and cranked for about 10-15 seconds before it started. I was like wth? My neighbors Jeep has been doing all kids of crazy stuff too. Was not wanting to start right away and died while idling when he took the gas cap off. My blazer did that too a couple weeks ago...
I think @mrk5 Truck just had some weird hiccups too. Maybe we are getting some crappy ass gasoline or something

When it is cool in the mornings my vehicles start just fine, or when they are up to operating temperature they start just fine, but when it is in the heat of the day, and my vehicles are cooled down to the same ambient temp out side is when they have a problem.

Went to turn the rig around so I could work on the cargo area and the damn key wouldn’t turn off. Would turn forward and grind the starter, but not off. Had to kill it with the clutch. Disconnected the batteries and tore the column apart. Pulled the cylinder and shot some lube in it and got it to free up. Put it back in to test it and after about 10 cycles it locked up again. :doah:Now the key is really stuck haha. Went and bought a new one and it’s good to go. Noticed my horn contact tower was broken so I ordered one of those. Better now than Moab...

Boxing that section between the link mounts? I’ve seen a couple skids that wrap around and bolt from the side.
The link mounts will get tied together one way or another eventually, but the skid is just going to bolt on to the front and rear x-members.

Yay! My favorite. Scotchbrighting tubing. Time to remove rusty handprints and sweat lol. Some day when I’m done adding tubes, I’ll spray this whole thing with steel-it. Going to gray Herculine my cargo shelving before it goes back in too. Also replacing the regular bolts that hold down the wood with eye bolts so I’ll have some tie down points for my topside gear F2CC5C7E-625A-4D29-A866-54527E1005B5.jpeg
