85 K5 Build (What to do this summer...)

Have any of you tried the mastercraft courser mxt's or the cooper discoverer stt pro?

The coopers seem to do well in the dunes, and some trails in Mi. I have no first hand experience but the jeep people seem to like them.

I have the stt pro on my DD super duty. I like them so far. My truck gets stuck every where any way though. Cooper makes good tires. I run a lot of them on my trucks at work .

I think I have a couple thousand on them so far. Like any mud terrain they need to be rotated and they are louder on the highway than an A/T. I'm a big fan of the old school bfg mud terrain and these remind me of them.

Here is the finished roll cage without the soft topIMG_7955.JPG I ordered so grab handles from amazon for 15$ so nobody will lose any fingers

Here is the shovel and axe that I made and mounted to the cage. (Can't get the shovel/axe out without dropping the tailgate...Theft proof)IMG_7953.JPG Subwoofer cover

I put these on my wife's truck and they've been great. You can probably find them with free shipping. I think she has around 40k on them now.

I also like the Hercules trail digger m/T and the Firestone destination m/T both pretty reasonably priced.

The fire stones are pretty hard. The wear well. That is unless they are on the rear of my dmax :burnout:

I think I'm getting these for my wife's truck. I want to see how many miles we get out of the trac grips but winter will be here soon!

Those look really similar to a Hercules trail digger m/T.
Yeah they really do look a lot alike. I like the sidewall better on the gladiator, but I used to sell Hercules tires so I'm going to have to make a tough decision. Was always impressed with Hercules tires. IMHO off brand tires are the way to go anymore. I was skeptical with the tires on my wife's truck but at nearly half the price for a name brand 35x12.50x20 I didn't think I could go wrong. I figured up the mileage last night and she has almost 47k on them. They went on three years ago in early September 2013 with a hair under 35k miles on the truck and now she has almost 82k on it without having the speedometer corrected. I would be willing to bet they would go another 10-15k easy. Sorry for taking over @Sjudy98 at least maybe we had some useful info?!?! Lol

No worries all of your opinions are helpful. I have the hercules terra trac at's on my work truck and suburban and they are great but where i live they are at least 200 a tire

I had a couple sets of those. I wish they made them in bigger sizes.
