The crew is a co-workers build. Told him to make a build thread but he says he doesn't know how to Internet.

Replaced the leaking rear hard brake line tonight. Threw in the fuel filter while I was there.

Decided to take her on the maiden voyage since it sorta has brakes.

Made it about 1/4th mile before it started to death wobble.

I have so much to do before this thing is road worthy enough to drive to Tuttle and wheel lol.

No I didn't. But I also have unbalanced military tires, no steering stabilizer, and need an alignment. I'm thinking I'll need to do hydro assist a lot sooner than later.

Repainted mirrors black cause they were pretty much rust colored. Not sure if I like it.

Started ripping the dash apart to find the mouse droppings. Not looking forward to getting the heater box out. Looks like a pain in the ass.

Had this other cluster and nicer bezel from that '87 V1500 I parted out for the K10.

Took it apart to replace the bulbs, paint the housing, and clean it.

Just waiting on some bright white led bulbs.

Did you get your brakelines from ORD?

About that death wobble.. I had all new parts in the kingpins and steering/suspension and got the dw bad.
Put fender washers in and did driveway alignments a couple times to no avail.
My tires had balancing beads snd aluminum rims and now it rolls smoothly after doing hydro assist.
Good luck!

Yeah I did. They seem like some good quality lines.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was thinking the fix was going to be. I need to make a parts list for the TSC hydro assist and pick up some parts.

I don't really like it either. The mirrors looked really bad before. Might spray them a satin white. I'd like so normal stainless steel ones.

Probably having no steering stabilizer is the true killer there. Even with brand new springs and bushings in my bro's d60, he still got DW with 37's without a stabilizer.

Hydro assist for the win. Just go the surplus center route. That along with a DIY4x steering box cap and you are all set. Been running mine for 3+ years now with no issues whatsoever. I think I only spent ~$300 on the whole setup and that included a heavy duty d60 cover with a hydro mount built off it from DIY4x, so it can be done cheaper. My brother runs the exact same setup on his with 37's that he still drives on the road and never had a problem with it.

This. I made some .16" washers to sit on top of the kingpin sprung to increase the spring rate. The reason for that is the d60 is made for 31 inch radials so the bigger tires need more spring tension.

With 40s I had no death wobble after I did new springs, bushings and the washers. It's obviously better to fix wobble instead of patching it up with hydro. I've beat the rig pretty bad...Drug threw a few miles of trail and no issues still after inspecting then the other day.

This as well. Surplus center ftw!

In fact I'll post the part list I used on my hydro setup if you'd like. It was maybe $200 all said and done including a spare line. I also have pictures of how I mounted it with two cheap tabs.

The diy cap is very much worth it. I drilled and tapped the top cap where the sector shaft goes, which I can go into greater detail on that if interested.

I LOVE white painted mirrors. I have piles of stainless ones, I'll trade you.
