When you push the aluminum hub-lock insert into the hub, are you able to get the large (3.5") retaining ring in?

Yes I did get the big snap ring and small snap ring that came with the service kit in.

Try pushing the internal lock (slidey dohicky) in until it engages.
Hubs is unlocked when installing?

I'll go back and look, I had a discussion on here (ck5) about it somewhere.

Found it. Something is weird with them cause I'm having the same problem. Technically they would still work, but just let dirt and debris in.

The aluminum part is hitting the spindle and stopping it from going in any further. Then the turn dial bottoms out on the aluminum part and leaves the gap even with the O ring installed.

wtf m8

That was why I asked about the retainer.
Learned something new

I just found that thread too. I don't know what the hell is going on but the issue I had is clearly the same as the one you're having.

No matter what way you move it, it can't go in any further cause it mates to the body.

The center where the axle shafts slides into bottoms out on the spindle.

:dunno:

If it was me I'd chuck it up against the wall real hard. Wouldn't fix anything and wouldn't make me feel any better but that's what would happen. Wish I could help you! That's nuts!

Does anyone know if the guts for the warns are different between the non-premium version and the premium? I'm wondering if those guts are premiums.....

That's about the only thing that would make sense. Maybe I need to email Warn.

been looking over hundreds of photos online and I've noticed something.

This ridge, I haven't see it on all of the other standard warns.

I wonder if machining that down would do the trick?

I know on my Dana 44 they are different. I can't rememeber what part because its been over a year now but I couldn't use the premiums cover over the non-premiums guts. Then again this was on a 44 not a 60 so take it at face value.

Looking at the one on the truck, that may work.

I originally planned to make a nice fuel door on the inside of the bedside, but I just don't have the time right now so I did it the easy way.

Cut a hole in the wheel well and took one of the stock filler necks and screwed it on. It looks bad, but I don't think the tire will touch. If it does I'll deal with it later. I just needed a way to fuel up since I bolted the box down.

It's probably a bad idea to use a radiator hose, but I don't think I have much option. Going to try to make this one work.
