Went to Nick's yesterday to work on the heads. He has a welder and a valve spring tool. Had to weld some nuts onto broken studs to get them out. Then I changed the valve springs and seals while Nick cleaned up the heads a little. Hard to make progress with single digits and negative temps but it’s something lol.

When you weld a nut to a stud that's broken down in the head that far, how do you keep from welding to (or messing up) those last couple of threads?

Buy anything yesterday?

I bought one license plate, and two hub caps.

Pretty low numbers for me.

Same here. Just some axle straps, vice grips, and a pack of roloc cleaning discs. By far the worst swap meet I've been to.

I really would like to have carpet in this truck but it leaks water from a few places I cannot track down. So I decided to get a rubber mat and clean up a little bit of the crust with POR15. As much as I hate that stuff I don’t really care on a rusty/leaky cab.

Got this floor mat from stock interior. Nice piece but a mother f****r to install and make it pretty. Still not as good as I had hoped but it will work for now.

Haven’t put the seat back in cause I might address the heater box issue while I have room. Also broke a seat belt bolt so trying to get that to break free. I’m also thinking about buying a seatbelt kit from LMC to just be done with it cause mine are junk and one doesn’t retract. I think the gray floor will match the gray seat well. Then I will get some gray belts.

I like that concept. I have a couple of old first gen bodies with some rust in the usual places so I been thinking kind of the same thing on both front and back. Why not just cut it off and then move the axles out. I really like the way that black border blends into the bumper.
