'89 Blazer LS swapped DD/Adventure Rig

I'm not sure if you will have the right angle on the shackle with your 4.5er. I have a 6" shackle.
I will look into it. The more I look at the blazer from the side the goofier it looks with the rear end too far forward.

And a softer ride wouldn't hurt either [emoji6]

What shift kit do you have?
Its a modified transgo kit put together by Dana at probuilt automatics, it is his HD 4x4 kit.

.500 Boost valve, 2-3 shift valve, accumulator pistons, Vette servo, and a slew of springs a check balls. There were more hard parts but I can't remember them all. It was the best $180 investment I made for my swap. I will never own another unmodified automatic transmission. It shifts like a dream.

I have the same setup in mine, but no trans go. It is made by another company that split off from trans go.:thumb:

Can't wait to see what it does behind my 6.0

Back to A.C......

I installed my condenser this evening and was to my surprise it was a bolt up affair. My compressor should be here Monday or Tuesday and I'll get it installed along with the kwik performance bracket.

I have a little bit of wiring to do since I want both electric cooling fans to come on whenever the a.c. is on.

Whenever I reworked my harness, I found an "a.c. request signal" wire. This input kicks the fans on whenever a.c. is on. Upon further investigation, I found that you have to integrate all of the LS pressure sensors and whatnot in order for that feature to function. I have figured out a way around this so the a.c. system will be completely stand-alone, and still function like I want.

I'll post a diagram when finished, with some pics [emoji14]

This is exactly what I was pondering over the other day. Not sure how I'm going to work my Vintage Air type set up with the ECM. I has to turn the fan on with the AC switch, not the signal to the AC compressor clutch. Don't want the fan to cycle on and off with the clutch. :(

You have to tap into the compressor clutch circuit pre cycling switch. Then you'll have constant 12v anytime the a.c. is on.

A.C. switch --->fan relay trigger---> cycling switch ---> compressor

To get the tire centered in the wheel opening without gaining lift...I drilled a second hole in the spring perch one inch forward. Easy-peasy, cheap and cheerful. Just did mine this weekend. 3/4" is probably perfect, but one inch there is a bit more meat between the holes....hmmm, that sounded dirty. :eek1:

Anyways. Easy fix.

Lol are the springs hard to drill thru? I imagine it would be some pretty hard material...

My Sanden came in this afternoon and I got it installed with the kwik performance bracket. Everything went smoothly and it looks awesome.

It is getting dropped off in the morning to have the hoses made, I'm ready for some cold air [emoji14]

Yeah, the perch is just mild steel. Literally took me 5 minutes to mark and center punch the perches, drill a pilot and finish with a 9/16" drill.

The Sanden looks pretty! I'm gonna have to go back and read more carefully when I'm nearer to this point on my build. I have the stock AC pump, which obviously doesn't play well with the K5 frame rail. I've removed it for the time being and will also need a high mount AC like you have. My better half tells me AC is important...and it did blow ice cold when it had the TBI 350.:D

Share your wiring schematic when you are all done. I was wondering the same thing since I plan to get the same setup you and Teck are using for AC. Getting the wiring setup right so that the fan cycles on is not exactly super simple.

Will do, I got it figgered out [emoji41]

I will have to look at mine. I know the green wire from the k5 ac control is wired straight to the compressor. Not sure how they wire the computer but there is a fan relay and they come on and run when the ac is turned on. I really wish I would have learned how they did the rework of the wiring harness. I do have to say the kid that did mine was sharp on them.

This setup will make both cooling fans come on whenever the A.C. is on.
I am using a DEI 8616 mini relay to convert the 12v+ from the HVAC system to a negative trigger for the main cooling fans relays.
