89 k5 Trazer build "The Dirty Girl" *Tubed front/taper, full hydro steer*

Looking good, I like your idea of full hydro, i just wouldnt mount it where the org box is. Make it higher and away from the tires..
Thanks everyone, you think the tires will actually hit that orbital? It's a little smaller than the factory steering box plus I've never hit that one before

Great work!!

Pleasant surprise checking for an update an seeing all this!!!
Looks Great muddermitia!

Love the pic of the 2 rigs together.
A true CK5 pair of rigs...:waytogo:

Unfortunately I will be selling the m1009 soon. I need to get a tow rig

Not really because of the tires hitting it but as you get further and further along if you mount it higher up and away it just gets it out of the way.

Really opens up that side of the frame for coilover mounting without the steering shaft there

I see what you mean, I'm a long ways from coilovers but that would definitely help with re doing my upper shock mounts. I think I will just deal with the orbital in the stock location for now. Should be easy enough to change later down the road if I decide to.

If I'm going to run a single ended ram attached to a tie rod in the stock location, what size ram do I need? I was probably going to get a tie rod from ORD and a ram from tractor supply co

EDIT: Oh and mods, if you wann move this to the driveway section, go right ahead :)

My brother has been a fabrication machine lately

The front fenders are just the outer skin, there will be mounting tabs added to the tubes

More progress on the tube work, it's a good start

Driver's side rock slider is mocked up

Front bumper is going to be cut down and the frame will be trimmed so that we can move the bumper back a little for a slightly better approach angle.

Here you can see how narrow it is now

What the grill might end up looking like. There may be stinger supports running through the outer headlight openings, still debating this though

So since I blew out one of my rear Superlift cheapo shocks on the last trip, I'm going to replace them with a pair of these Rancho adjustable remote reservoir shocks. I got a great deal on these awhile ago and even though they are a little shorter, I think they will still work for me

Cool Lines!

Love the extreme tapered front end muddermilitia!!

Seen it on a few rigs but yours is the narrowest yet!

Looks great!

What is the other rig (with the Mickey Thompsons) sharing the garage with your beast??

Thanks guys. The other truck is my brothers 1952 Dodge M-37. It's sitting on a 1978 Suburban frame thats been shortened. Has a 600-650hp big block too. I will post a pic once I get back home.

Its pretty easy once your at this point to move the radiator back some too.

I move mine like 5" I think and and still using the mechanical fan, had to do some shroud trimming but its fine.

Doing that will allow you to move the winch back even further. Helps approach a good amount

Radiator has been moved back some, didn't measure so I can't say for sure how far. It will also be leaned back a little bit. I already have windstar fans so I will most likely use those.

Oh and I forgot to post these videos from my last wheeling trip. First one is a shorty but the second I used my new GoPro camera for :)
