Looking forward to seeing this thing run at the Badlands.

Well Thanks to all my local buds who came over to help tonight. We got everything done cept need to fill the rear diff , and do up a new steering shaft. The xj shaft doesn't fit so either need to modify the frame or use the ****ty stock one.

The truck seems to run really good so now just fixing the minor stuff.

Yippee , after a rough week it was cool to make it worth it . Ps backing a truck down the drive with no steering shaft is not for the faint of heart .... ;)

So the TBI was running good on the 305 and now it sits on top of a 350? What have you done to the ECU? Are they the same injectors? Any other changes to the fuel system?

Maybe you covered this stuff, but I didn't see it anywhere.

I was told it ran good with the 305.

Later I did ask the PO a few questions.

1-Where is the 02 Sensor ?
A- Never had an o2 sensor as I couldn't find the wire. ( I found the wire need a weld in bung tho)

2 What was the computer from ?
A He said he had the 305 computer go bad or something so he got a computer from somebody that was from a truck with 350TBI/700R4 (Same setup I just put in) and he just used the 350 computer but didnt change anything on it.

3 What is the throttle body from?
A it is a Throttle body off a 350 just used that not the 305 throttle body.

hope that helps.

So when does it run bad? At any rpm with throttle open or only at higher rpms? If it was only higher rpms I would suspect fuel starvation. At only certain loads, I would suspect the MAP sensor, but I've never owned a TBI truck. Does it idle OK?

It seems strange that the same computer would run both a 305 and a 350 well without any changes.

My buddy is saying he thinks it is the exhaust leak and needing to get some more precise timing. I can cruise down the road then when i drop the hammer it falls on its face , and then stutters then goes. After you go down to half throttle instead of stabbing it.

If you think you got it figured out and need to borrow a part, you can snag it off my truck. 89 TBI 350 or my 88 TBI 350
