Got these done and the truck finnally off the trailer.

3/16in thick rear with 1410s and a 1/8in thick 1410 and 1350cv front shaft. Pretty solid sruff

Hopefully going out for another trial run Sunday .

And then I went wheeling Saturday, and now my idea of selling it and totally funding the 02+ Envoy or Bravada idea is shot. But it did well, slipped a center pin twice on the 60, the perch is toast, but it did well.

I have a video of part of that damage, but the majority of it came from a drop off, I laid in on the rear quarter so hard falling backwards it crumpeled the whole cab in till the slider on the passenger side, so I proceeded to unlock the rear, cut the wheel and reversed, sliding me the rest of the 4ft or so drop, and landing it on it's Brittney Spears side, which now resembles her head shaving meltdown.

I'm hoping. I really like the LS tunability and reliability, but don't want to deal the the 8.1 stuff because it's hard to find. CNP swapping a Gen 6 454 is super easy because it was a factory GM option already .

Correct. Coil near plug.

The Gen 6 in 98-00 in motorhomes and the like were offered with a ETC and coil near plug ignition.

The 4x reluctor wheel beneath the timing chain is replaced with a factory 24x reluctor wheel and a special crank sensor . The factory Vortec dizzy then receives a block off cap and is used just for the 1x cam signal. Allowing for the 0411 or newer ecms and ignition systems.

One stands to reason using that logic a 58x wheel could be converted to one.

EFIConnection will sell you the 454 reluctor wheel for 200$.

You can source all the parts from GM. The wheel is 40$ and the sensor is about 90$. And it reuses the stock gen 6 timing chain cover.

And then there was multiport LS based EFI.

Still need the XM284HR, and the 102mm cable driven TB. Also need to figure out a decent injector. I think I'm leaning towards 8.1 marine 42lbs because I have all the injector data already, and can just adjust the lbs for the tune that I guess in retrospect I haven't even started yet .

I wish that manufactures would stop making the red with blue anodized bits.

Otherwise, nice looking setup.

Got the cam, springs, and rotator eliminators now. I forgot how big BBC springs were, especially since I haven't messed with a BB in years, lately been all LS stuff. The retainers didn't come with it though which was odd but whatever.

Super Chevy did a decent write up on this cam with a Gen 6 454. It's basically the absolute largest cam that you can fit with the stock Vortec head lift restrictions. Gains roughly 80-100hp throughout most of the RPM range on the stock engine. Roughly 430/520 or so all said and done with a quadrajet and a dual plane.

Now obviously these Vortec heads are not going to line up great with this intake as it is rectangle port. So since I decided to go rectangle port to save about 200$ in the whole setup, I decided to just port match these Vortecs as best as possible, and eventually find some rectangle port heads and add compression. I know it's still basically a crawler, but I just love that 4500+ rpm blasting take off stuff.

I in fact did put two front shocks on it.

Decided to do the 52in swap after driving it again, got all that minus the springs, then decided that while I really wanted to build the 6.0 Envoy on coils, that overall this thing is way cooler. So I kept the 454 and decided to up the power.

And then I gave the shocks away .

Got the throttle body. No gaskets which figures and no bolts for the IAC or the TPS but that's no big deal. I am probably going to run 8.1 marine injectors because I have a bunch of the data for the truck versions. 42lbs at 43.5 psi so roughly 48-50lbs or whatever at 58psi which is around what I will run is good enough for now.

Waiting on the 24x reluctor wheel now so I can pull it apart and put it all the way back together.
