Haha.

Picked this up from powder coat and bolted in Thursday. Grandpa has been there a month and I was just told last week he couldn't leave until he had the hand rail installed.... So this ate up most of my week but well worth it I think.

One thing I learned, is tig all inner corners when you want to smooth welds. Not only does it just make less cleanup, but when you tig an inner corner you can just rest the cup on both walls and run it down super clean.

you should really bolt it down though.. and not zip ties, know how fond of them you are......

Haha.

It actually is bolted down in those pics (only half of the bolts on the floor flanges). I Need to go back with some lag screws for the holes on the right hand side. The wood supports are directly under those holes so the through bolts wont work.

Its honestly so sturdy though as is its probably not necessary. But I will still do it just because.

Also I painted all the bolts that are currently in the stairs, and the lags into the door frame black, so you cant really see them anyways.

My cousin and I whipped out the right side hand rail last week and I just dropped it off to powder coat.
Added a little hook on the right side out of some 1/4" because grandpa wants to mount a chain to the wall that's a few feet away so he can hang jackets and such over the chain, but be able to quick lift it off.

Shannon and I hopped in her car Friday and drove down to St. Louis to get my new ride. Meet Jim!

5.3 v8, HD suspension / tow package, aux trans cooler, Power everything, AC, Cruise, and touch screen with backup camera. Yet it still has vinyl floors AND a floor shifter for the tcase. Its the perfect mix of work truck yet fancy stuff for me.

Richard did most of the work in finding it for me, and I was actually expecting it to be a crude and ugly work truck when I got there, and I felt all spoiled by the interior the whole way home :)
By far the nicest thing I have ever owned. Time to get back to work.
